Here is my list; Bob Fosters left hook kayo of Mike Quarry. Marciano Walcott one. Hearns right hand kayo of Duran. There are many more but these are three big ones.Fosters left hook in general was one of boxings all time greatest punches. Lets hear some others.

Of coarse Marciano's right hand that put walcott to sleep ion the 13th round of their first fight should be number 1 on everyone's list. My other two personal favorites are Hearns Ko of Duran and then Zale's left hook that finished Graziano in their third fight.
Honorable mention goes to Frazier's picture perfect left hook that stopped Ellis.

There have been so many...

I mean Foster could have the top two all by himself with his one-punch knockouts of the durables Mike Quarry and Dick Tiger.

But I suppose this would be my top three list:

1. Foster KO4 Quarry - Picture perfect left hook. Ringsiders truly believed Quarry was dead, and if not, seriously injured.

2. Hearns TKO2 Duran - Nobody ever did to Duran what Hearns did to him that night. Awesome punch, delivered with an unusual whipping twist at the end.

3. Marciano KO13 Walcott - This has always been a favourite of mine. Truly devastating. Walcott was out, and wouldn't wake up for a few minutes. The way he gently slid down those ropes was something spectacular.

Julian Jackson had some beautiful knockouts, even against the highest class of opposition (Terry Norris, Herol Graham).

Yeah, the ko of Norris is a favorite of mine as well. Norris was actually knocked out on his feet! If Jackson had walked away right after that shot Norris would have stood there like a statue. I think Jackson's follow up punches actually brought him around.

Although I wouldn't call those guys durable.

When it comes to knockout artists, the two that stand out for me are Foster and Jackson. I rate Foster over Jackson however, since the guys Foster knocked cold with a single punch tended to be more durable than the ones Jackson did.

Ever seen Foster's knockout of Rondon? Not one punch, but three - a right, then two left hooks. Rondon's skull was fractured in two places and his left foot was twitching... Had to be carried out on a stretcher. Scary knockout.

It doesn't seem to get mentioned alot, but Buster Douglas' three punch combination that put Tyson down for the count was one of the best I've ever seen.

Azumah Nelson's uppercut KO of Pat Cowdell. Wilfred Benitez's (YES Wilfred Benitez !) one punch ko that put Maurice Hope to sleep. Mike McCallum's hook from hell that left Donald Curry dazed and confused. Vasili Jirov's bodyshot that left Dale Brown looking like he'd been shot for real. Michael Nunn's one punch ko of Sumbu Kalambay. Jose Quinones' (remember him) ko of ironheaded Doug DeWitt. James "The Heat" Kinchen's near murder of Alex Ramos, that was scary but Alex fought again. Marvin Johnson's KO of Victor Galindez and Edwin Rosario's 2nd round blow out of very solid jawed Livingstone Bramble.

..brockton boy...damn...i was hoping nobody would bring up the charles/walcott III.....but then, in good concience i suppose i would have had to bring it up myself.

fitzsimmons/corbett is a one puncher....and is available on tape and film......and is unusual because it's a one punch body punch kayo.

oops...just thought of it...what about hopkins/delahoya? ditto re: above.

Well, then it wasn't a one-punch knockout, was it?

well the left barely landed it kind of hit the gloves and made the gloves go out the way so he could land the perfectley times right hand that did the trick.

And that's the best 1-2 you've seen in your life?!?!?! Not one where, say, both punches landed?

Bruce Currys ko of Monroe Brooks

Julian Jacksons ko of Buster Drayton

Mike Mccallums ko of Don Curry

George Foremans ko of Micheal Moorer

Duran's knockout of Lou Bizzarro was pretty bad, although Bizzarro had taken a serious beating before the final right hand hit him after rising from a knockdown.

But the number one for me has still got to be Foster-Quarry.

I agree, Foster - Quarry is a tie for the most devastating along with Kenny Vice - Jim Mc Donnell.

What strikes me about Fosters KO of Quarry is his gesture as he walks back to the neutral corner. Bob shakes his head and glove as if to say, "he's kopped it".

Another devastating KO is Arguello - Rooney and Mugabi - Ramsey

Loved that one... I think that guy's name was Fitgerald.
