From the Montreal Mirror:

Seems he cant stop drinking. Apparently he weighs 215lbs.

What a waste

Quote of the week:

“I may have had a few drinks.” —Former Montreal boxer Matthew Hilton, commenting on his state of mind at the time he allegedly uttered death threats to his wife’s former husband. Hilton spent the weekend in jail and was granted bail on Monday.

Very sad to see what has happened to Mathew, sounds like he is a chronic alcoholic...

That's an odd reason for putting them in a sitcom. Does most of America want to stab Cliff Huxtable in the eye with a fork?

The reason is that Davey Hilton sexually abused his own daughters for years. The man should be sent to the chair.

Alex Hilton might agree with me, as he arranged the homosexual rape of a peodophile whilst in prison.

Perhaps Alex will prove he is not a hypocrite and arrange something similar for his brother.

The one I feel sorry for is Matthew, had awesome ability but the boy seemed to have inherited his dads taste for the demon drink.

It seems Davey Hilton Sr, taught the boys how to box at the expense of teaching them anything about life.

A sad tale, would make a shocking movie, though.

The Hilton family story has errie parallels to that of the Ayala family... right down to the sexual abuse...

Alex Hilton is currently on remand for holding up a convenience store , he goes on trial shortly. The story of the Hiltons must be one of the greatest falls from grace in sporting history.

This is a recent picture of Matthew Hilton, i think the drooping eyelid is due to the time be was smacked on the head with a weapon.

Its shows just what a wasted talent they were, Dave Hilton won a world title at 37 - at Super Middleweight.

How good could he have been in his prime - if he kept to the straight and narrow.

What a prick though.

Has Davey Hilton Snr got any off spring who have kept on the straight and narrow and without a criminal record?

Yes he was. Hilton abused Gatti's nieces and beat Gatti's sister for years.

A Canadian promoter was trying to arrange a catch weight fight at 154 between Gatti and Hilton in prison.

Gatti wasnt interested. He didnt want Hilton to benefit financially.

Some grudge fight eh?

LOrd...... you couldn't make stuff up like this. It's funny if this had been in the US it would be huge news. I guess because it's Canadian it gets hidden away.

E, i know you were on speaking terms with John Mugabi.

What a fight we would have between a prime Mugabi and a prime Matthew Hilton at 154. The more I think about it the 80's really was a golden age in the modern era.

Do you still see Mugabi?

Mugabi trained down the gym for several months and was talking about a comeback but then disappeared.... I haven't seen him in a year I think. I used to have his phone number but lost my phone so no longer have it.

Hopefully he deceided against the comeback, I think he had been planning it for October of 2005 or something.

Him and Hilton would have been a fantastic, though both had short primes...

I think Hilton, with his agressive style, would have been tailor made for Mugabi, who loved traders, arther than movers. Although Mattew did have an excellent chin. Dont think he ever went down?

I see Mugabi putting him down though, Hilton was open to a right hand and Mugabi's was a wrecking ball. I see this going the same as Mugabi - Curtis Parker (who was also rock-chinned).

Mugabi in 1.

Hilton - Ayala would have been more competetive.
