Is it true that Zulueta was murdered in a street fight? If yes, when did this happen?

I read an old post on this site in which someone wrote that he thinks it was either Zulueta or Bud Smith who was killed by gang members in a street brawl.Smith died very young-I don't know the cause. This was also the only reference that I have seen about Zulueta's death(if, in fact, he is deceased).

And Smith was murdered also.

One of these guys -- I am drawing a blank right now, was murdered by the members of the Hell's Angels.

Zulueta was killed by bikers. He was a very easy going man and worked as a photographer in San Francisco since the early sixties. One day he walked out of his house and ran into a biker gang...

Bud Smith (and i'll post the thread as soon as i can, terap) was shot during a street fight, but not exactly in a street brawl. a peaceful guy, he was trying to break up a fight ...one he wasn't involved in..and was fatally shot.

he and zulueta were contemporaries and fought three times.zulueta won the first, and bud won the second and third. zulueta had a left jab that could slice you to pieces.

..and while i'm here...why so many of us talk about those days in the past...i don't have zulueta's record...but ....all three of these fights took place in the same year...1953...march, may and december...and they were just three of the ten fights smith had that year..and at the end of the year ring magazine had bud the number one challenger and zulueta third. to stay in the top ten in those days top ten fighters had to fight each other.

...add to the smith/zulueta series...an 8 round draw in i951 in newark. somehow missed this on in looking over their records.
