Now we have all heard of these Boxers do they have to get deleted off the topic I have heard from Junior McDonald from a few sources...what type of fighter is he stylewise?

That's what I was going to say, how can we tell you of a prospect we haven't heard of yet?

i think he means as in not got much coverage.

webb id say as he turned pro in a relative blaze of publicity and was televised woudl be renown.

Junior not, saw him box on the symonds/minter undercard.

Cruiserweight: Junior McDonald V Gary Thompson

One look at these two opponents and it wasn't hard to see who was going to emerge victorious. Thompson was about as in shape as I am! So it proved to be Junior was never in trouble and a big right hand halfway through the first brought a whelp of pain from Thompson the referee stepping in as Gary's eye immediately swelled up. This was only Junior's second fight so this mismatch can be forgiven but this proved little and the gesture toward Johnny Nelson at ringside was somewhat over presumptuous. Junior though looks a dedicated trainer, was in great shape looking cut and sharp as they say he can only beat what is put in front of him. I look forward to seeing him in the near future against a more live opponent and wish him the best of luck.




i know we were talkiong aobut him not so long ago but Sam Rokundo looks a decent lad as well. Gary woolcoombe also looks a good lad agina he has had exposure tho.

Gary Woolcombe's name crops up quite often it seems, only seen him once and he was a bit wild, maybe tying to impress because TV was there though. Seems a few people rate him highly. Sam Webb is supposedly the Ricky Hatton of the south, good body puncher with plenty of aggression about him.

Kell Brook, nice skills, needs to settle down a bit, but that will come with experience.

sam was on sky a few weeks back, belive Buitch knows him well, my mate matt who i used to do a bit of padwork woth knows him pretty well from his gym (he teaches mhouy thai) but knows Sam from the "fight scene." in south east london / kent.

Sam at 24 is quite mature to be turnign pro as well which could be a good thing, he certainly looks well rounded for a novice pro and i reckon he could make british level within 18 months..

For real under the radar prospects look at the ABA champs who will surely turn over after the Commonwealths.

The Bantam (Nick McDonald), Light Welter (Jamie Cox) and Lightweight (who didnt enter but is easily nation's best - Frankie Gavin) looked the pick of the bunch to me. Also Degale at Middleweight.

Tony Bellew might be tempted to turn in the vest after being snubbed for selection?

Doesn't really count, but Andy Lee is making his pro debut soon - I expect big things from him.

Is he the guy who represented Ireland at the Olympics? If so then yes he will be a good fighter as a pro i would say.

Yep, basing himself in the states and aligned himself with Manny Steward.

Steward says he's as good as Roy Jones was turning pro, make what you like out that that. He also said Octavio Lara would be the next De La Hoya.

for me guys it has to be a yorkshire kid called adrian clegg saw him box st elland road in november his first fight back after 18month off, got two cuts both from head clashes and still looked good for me! hope the kid doesnt have a lay off again and shows his potential, another kid as well is danny reynolds from leeds been in with hatton,farnell wen he was amateur and looking good so far! only the one fight for reynolds but was impressed!!! clegg is 6f 5w 1loss, hoping to see them both next month

Carl Wright at Cruiserweight. Unbeaten after 14 fights, holds both the midlands and British Masters belts. Won both titles despite not being with a major promoter/manager. Strong and has potential to get better.

Wright was a rugby player before turning to boxing I believe? Late starter. so he is doing well. He is strong and not worried about getting into a fight, duno if he can get passed area level though? Good shout though!

Not unheard of but Michael Grant looks an exceptional talent. He's fighting in Spain on the 13th.

Gary Buckland, although he looked a bit flabby when I saw him on a Joe Pyle show.

Andy Murray another very good prospect, although he has been on Sky I believe.

Wouldn't call Woolcombe a prospect now that he's got the british masters after beating Delroy Mellis, but he's definately improving. his win over mellis and the clinical knockout of Danny Parkinson were both very good wins.

Haven't seen Murray yet but I have heard good things - look forward to seeing the transplanted Irishman sometime soon.

George Hillyard? He has been discussed a bit so don't know if he counts. Needs a better attitude and nutritionist though.

everyone 's only mentioned british prospects so far but ive been keeping an eye on a cruserweight's record. Never seen him fight but this Grigory Drozd just had an impreessive Ko win over pavel melkonian(the only man to beat another good cruser prospect, who's name i wont even try to spell but he's polish and he's knocked out rudiger mayer).
Drozd cud possibly a good match for haye but I suppose haye 's not nothing to gain but everything to loose with this guy.
