Is team Woods in talks with any other boxer, anyone knows?

It was going to be Jones JNR, and Johnson is Woods' mandatory, but both of these seem to be non-starters at the moment. Adamek would be interesting

Johnson has said he isn't really interested in a third fight with Woods.

Woods-Adamek would be a great fight and one Woods can win but it would be a massive ask, Adamek is a monster. He can give and take it for 12 rounds and has clear power as he showed when he nearly took Ulrich's chin off. Woods would need to box and move and stay out of the way of the Pole's artillery.

Definitely a good fight if it comes off. I've only seen Adamek's last fight, but he seemed like a decent fighter. Should be a close fight, which either man could win.

Would be great if Clinton could unify some titles. A few years ago I didn't think he would ever do much at world level, but he's really turned things around. He's not ducking anyone either, Adamek is probable a good favourite at this stage to beat Woods.

Hope there's some truth in this, it could be a cracker. Sounds plausible enough, I don't think either Woods or Adamek are the type to shirk a challenge.

Not sure about the pole, I hear Johnson in June / July following a "tune" up sooner, cant see team woods seeing the pole as a tune up fight. I think it'll be someone a little less dangerous.
How about the argie Hernan Garay?

I'd love to see this fight, but despite Woods' excellent improvement in his last two fights, Adamek has shown me much more in his own last two outings. Woods has shown he can box with control, and energy. but Adamek seems to have the better stamina, can withstand horrendous punishment & can both box & fight. Punches with much more authority, also. I damn well hope this can come off.

Adamek's already distinguished himself in America and Germany. Would be great for boxing to have a new road warrior and it'd be nice to see Woods forget about RJJ & get one of the livest foes around.

I figured Glen would go for Woods, as no one will care about that IBO belt when Tarver moves up.

Two guys who are very tough and come to fight every time? Sounds like a cracking fight to me. Definitely more interesting than a fight against Jones or Johnsons. Hope this happens!

i think there's a lot of confusion at light heavy. 'World Champ' Tarver, 'Lineal Champ' Erdei, two-time & current WBA champ Tiozzo, IBF champ Woods on his 4th try & the WBC's claimant, Adamek. Make 'em fight each other - I believe Erdei vs Tiozzo will happen this year. (Universum need to rope in a good name to legitimize Zsolt, and he seems to have been practising vs pressure guys Sahnoune & Garay)

can't believe the IBF have Gonzalez rated so highly again. it seemed he'd be Woods' mandatory again soon. Let's hope something comes of these Adamek rumours.

Winner should fight Paul Briggs

During the Woods-Gonzalez fight Adamek was in TV studio. He was asked who would he prefer to fight and he answered definitely Woods, as Gonzalez's style would not suit him at all.

Hope he will fight Woods.

Happy to see a polish champ who doesn't duck anyone.

I'll second that, would be great to see a unification fight in the Sheffield Arena.

Also would love to see Woods pick up the WBC belt, i think he deserves big fights from now on.

If the fight does come off who would have thought 2 years ago that Woods would be fighting in a unification fight.

A proposed fight has fallen through due to money issues (what else). I hear team woods are working with sky to look for a suitable opponent (Sky presumably not giving an inch on expected quality).

I hope it happens....... if it does i dont see Woods winning this one. Adameks weak point is his defence and Clinton could capitalize on this, but i just cannot see him winning.

Just to note, Adamek's KO of Ulrich was one of the best i have seen for some time (p.s i missed the Hatton/Massua fight!)

Adamek has proved he can bang at the highest level and he seems to have a great chin at the highest level also as he took everything Briggs had to offer.....
Woods certainly has the chin and the engine.... lacks the power but has great experience!!!

i think woods just wants to fight these ageing names, Jones, Johnson, Tarver - or whoever the mandatories throw at him. personally that bores the shit out of me, because he's come along so well in terms of technique and energy & I'd like to see him in with an intense and lively challenge. I think Adamek would've knocked him out, however, with those long, jarring punches.

So Woods should be having a fight of similar quality?

Rule out the clever WBO champ Zsolt Erdei, who IMO will fight WBA champ Tiozzo later this year. Rule out Briggs, who'll probably challenge Adamek in a rematch, for the WBC title. Who does tht leave? I wouldn't mind seeing Woods vs the tricky Eric Harding, who reestablished himself last year as a legit contender.

But i think he'll go for Jones, hoping that RJ comes to Sheffield to hop, skip & jump around the ring.

I think the Road Warrior knows whats in store in an Adamek fight.

I really like how Woods has reinvented his training regimen, his nutritional regimen, and himself as a fighter. I think he wouldve given Adamek a decent fight and some solid rounds.

He has one very nice win over the limited Gonzalez, I dont know who he could fight next other than another titlist or Glen Johnson to try and avenge that loss.

Roy Jones? Please...I would much rather prefer an ADmek match or a fight with Briggs.

i had Erdei outboxing Garay in both of those nip & tuck fights. he didn't really take anything of consequence, blocking most of the shots and replying with clever & clean counters. Erdei's so quick with his counters that scoring shots are hard to see, making him difficult to score. Whereas Garay seemed to get too much credit from some ppl for ineffective aggression.

Erdei really dominated Gonzalez. I think Erdei fights Tiozzo this year. Great fight, if it happens

I also admire Woods' improvement, but I can't see him beating Briggs, Adamek or Erdei - if you give Erdei any room he'll handle you. I'd pick CW to beat Johnson & Jones in rubber/re- matches, however.

Woods has gotten rave reviews from his last two fights, deservedly so. But so has Adamek against better opposition. Adamek would stop Clinton, in my view.
