I've read in the past that Bob Hope (yes, that Bob Hope) fought professionally. Does anybody know anything about this? I looked him up in the archives under Hope and what I believe was his real name Leslie East and came up empty. Thanks, and how is everybody's New Year going so far?

I've made the same attempts you have and came up fruitless as well. I'd heard he fought as Packey East, though.

I find it interesting that third stooge Larry Fine was supposedly a quite talented amateur. Thinking about it, I can't see either in the ring, it's so out of their character and neither were built men. It would be pretty great if someone can come up with a result.

IN AN OLD RING MAGAZINE ,I THINK AROUND ABOUT 1981 THEY STATED THAT BOB HOPE ONLY FOUGHT AS AN AMATEUR

Hope had a friend who fought as Packy West so he took the name Packy East and fought a few amateur fights in Ohio.
