Froch played out his upcomming fight with Magee as if he was the one making all the plays, getting the ball moving, acting the big man as per usual........ well, the balls in your court now Froch, either sign the paper or shut the f*** up.
Magee by KO if Froch turns up!

He'll be there. If Reid can have Magee down on his derriere four times, I'm sure Froch wont have to many problems exposing Magees 'paper' jaw

I must say though, the Hennessy Sports PR machine has been quiet about this fight. I know they lost out on the purse bids, but I still expected to have heard more from them. They've had more to say about Dodson lately.
I'd still expect Froch to turn up though. He has to fancy his chances against Magee.

He'd be a dick if he didn't with all his posturing.

The last thing Froch is; is a bottle job. He is too confident - if there is any pull out it will be a genuine injury.

Frochs an accident waiting to happen and if he is looking beyond magee then he is in bother lets not forget that magee has been keeping a different calibre of company than froch has in tsypko and reid recently and if froch doesnt bring his hands up he will get sparked by magee IMO.

Magee hasn't really been mixing in a very good calibre of company really, Reid was shot and still dropped him four times. Froch would walk through Magee, Magee has no firepower to worry Froch yet Froch has plenty to get to Magee with. As soon as Froch starts landing the heavy artillery this fight is over.
I was actually wanting to go this fight, putting aside the press release bullshit are the tickets still on sale or is Froch officially not signing?

I would say that Froch is a slight favourite , but its the type of fight that i'll put a few quid on Magee if he's at good odds, as an upset is not out of the question.
Magee has fought at a good level, i thought he just won against Vitali Tsypko. The Reid result was a let down , maybe the pressure got to him a bit, and the knockdowns weren't that heavy.
Magee is a strong supermiddle and a southpaw with a decent punch, so he can definatly give Froch problems.

have to agree with this view on the fight froch will be a slight favourite but magee is not to be underestimated and granted magee's opponent since tsypko was subpar and i also dont think the reid we saw against lacy had his head right at all for the fight and to not even spar before fighting a guy like lacy is madness but thats another thread and reid is no were near the fighter he was. I just have a sneaky feeling this will not be as easy for froch as people are making out and i for one dont see him just walking through magee as he has to much experience for this to happen. With a bit of luck the fight gets signed and i will be there as i work just round the corner from the venue.

Reid's head wasn't right at all for the Lacy fight, especially when Lacy's fist was bouncing off it. Magee has a chance i suppose on beating Froch on workrate, if Brian can box and move while Froch poses then i agree he has a chance to pull off a points win.

I'm no Froch fan but come on he's hardly going to bottle it. He's getting paid £45k for bashing up poor old Brian Magee.
MH is just holding out to mess up thne Promoter cos they done him over Danny Hunt.

No contradictions there....
anyways, froch by KO as soon as he lands. Everything points to him winning, magee's a fine boxer, but so is carl (world silver medal wasnt it?). Froch is far from a future world champ or the finished article, but he has the potential to be. Magee dosen't (even jerry elliot decked him).

Froch will batter Magee, this promotional bluster is a storm in a teacup and even if Froch doesn't turn out to be the real thing, and if he isn't quite as good as he claims, we're only talking about Brian Magee here ! His record was built as an IBO champ against no-hoper imports, who were often hand-picked from middle or light-middle, he's faced two decent opponents and they both beat him. No way is Froch bottling it. I hope the bookies see it as close

You actually need someone to answer that for you Josh?
The people promoting boxing in this country are like a bunch of f'kin school kids.

Froch beats Magee every day of the week and on a sunday too!!!
To me its a decent fight for Carl, a name and someone with a dodgy chin who he will look good against.
However, Froch is not as good as he says he is and Joe C would spark him and I would pay GOOD money to see that happen

I agree with the majority, but this is undoubtedly Froch's toughest assignment. I know Tsypko was overated and has been exposed as a European level fight, but he is decent and Magee did a decent job there - standing up to the ukrainian's punches and I believe not ever being in serious danger.
I know the Elliot and Reid fight indicates "dodgy chin" but then he did well standing up to Tszypko's punches.... I think if you discount the chin factor, this is a 50:50 contest and maybe Magee's chin isn't as bad as first thought.
If you go on Tsypko's performance vs Adamu and compare it with Froch's and then look at Magee performance vs Tsypko - then you can make a case for Magee.

I think it will be the most interesting fight of froch's so far because more than any other fighter (with the possible acception of Barny) Maggee is a known quantity (we know the skill he brings to the table). He isn't a world beater but is just below european and the manner in which frch shows against him will show a lot. Lets hope the fight gets signed quik a win against someone who was deemed a worthy Calzaghe opponent should put into perspective some of the doubters. A loss and we will have to see where his carrer goes from there.
