I've heard that Jack Quarry father of Mike, Bobby and Jerry Quarry died on Saturday.

Jack Quarry's obituary and photo are on the
Bakersfield Californian website.
It is my understanding that Jerry, Mike, and Bobby
Quarry all sustained some type of brain damage.
I hope that Jack's family, friends, and fans accept
my condolences.

The Jerry saga is heartbreaking. I dont know if people realized how bad off he was for the last years of his life.Last I heard his Mom was looking after him. When asked how he got hurt, he said playing football. Tragic.My sympathies are with the Quarry Family.Proud ,tough,good people.

I've obviously confused Jack Quarry for another boxing father for a long time.
I remember reading a story of some father who pushed his two boxing sons and told them never to quit no matter what. Then one day that father shot himself because of some trouble.
I was certain this was Quarry's father and the two boys were Mike and Jerry, although it obviously wasn't after all.
Does anyone know who this might have been?

Regarding father being shot - I do recall the father of Bobby Czyz taking
his own life.
