Lennox Lewis = over rated power

okay he ko'ed a finished tyson and a dry unprepared rahman but when lewis had to step up to the plate eg. holyfield & tua he didnt deliver the goods. the man could only KO unprepared or washed up opponents and i can't believe the number of people who put him up there as a good power puncher and even worse....... in their top 10 heavys of all time.

most over rated boxer i have ever known.

Of any heavy weight ive seen i would say that tua has one of the best chins of all time, holyfield wasnt knocked out easy either. Your argument is so ridiculous i feel sorry for you or are you another of these posters that have started coming on and talking the biggest load of bollox just to annoy people?

I know I shouldn't reply to this but I will. You haven't got a clue. Holyfield is in most people top 10 HW of all time. And has for Rahman have you seen the KO? One of the best I've seen. How about Ruddock, Golota, Briggs, Grant etc. You should look at the people who went the distance with Lewis and all bar 1 or 2 were very good fighters. Apart from Mercer and Holyfield when Lewis went the distance he won pretty clearly.

His easy early knockouts of Shannon Briggs, Razor Ruddock, and Frans Botha are nothing to scoff at. All of them were very durable. Plus, the one punch knockout of Rahman was classic. The guy could crack.

your saying he couldnt punch because he couldnt stop Tua or Holyfield. Those 2 guys were both tough with great chins. I think you need to watch his kos again, especially the one against the Rock

I am really insecure and have no friends. If I try and voice an opinion in the real world people look at me as though I am no-one. Luckily, I have cyberworld. There, I can speak my thoughts and no-one can sneer at me to my face, there I am strong.

There, I can spout uneducated nonsense that the rest of us, who enjoy spending sometime in Cyberworld, but in the real world aren't losers, have to listen to me.

Grow up Freakoid, Lewis could punch like a mule could kick. I have him number 4 in my all time heavyweight rankings but am open and intelligent enough to argue with those who put him as low as fifteen.

Just a theory, but can we assume you have never boxed - even at the lowest level, in your life?

Uh, well the above posters have demonstrated why he had power, but even if that was not the case I don't quite know what can make you clame he was an over rated boxer.

In boxing you don't get payed for taking stupid risks with blokes like David Tua, infact quite the opposit, so yes he fought a cautiouse fight and relied on his skill. The KO everyone and get hit all the time means someone is a good boxer is not used by that many people who have taken hits from HW boxers.

Also how was Rahman unprepaired he was defending the HW title of the world against someone who had previousely heald it and an out of shape version of that fighter had been out boxing him unitll he KOed him in the first fight (not to take anything away what was a great punch).

I think your mummy is calling try not to annoy the big boys next time eh :TU:

Ruddock's chin held up against Tyson. Lewis KO'd the hell out of him. Ruddocks legs turned to jelly, wobbling about all over the place, then they said 'fk it! you on your own now son' and disappeared from the man.

Lewis has an abundance of power.

Lewis has a sledgehammer. I think he's got one of the most powerful single punches of all time. when that right hand comes down, it crumples just aboout anyone.

You could have used better KO's than Botha and an over the hill Tyson. Maybe Tommy Morrison. BTW, Tyson's KO of Botha is one of the best ever. Botha fell 3 times from one punch. :TU:

I noticed something in the Lewis KO'ing Tyson video, that ref was sweating like a bastard.

He was no doubt one of the hardest hitting heavyweights of all time.

Sure he had lackluster fights.. everyone is human. But when one looks through his KO highlight reels, he was nothing short of devastating when he was on top of his game.

His huge KO's against top competition can be compared against any all time great's KO's.
