I think Ray walks in the ring and Jermaine is immediately rushed to an ambulance to address a potentially lethal panic attack.

Taylor by decision. Robinson was tough, but his primitive style wouldn't hold up to Taylor's constant jabbing and body punching.

was that what Taylor dreamed while recovering in the Hospital after taking 7 consecutive L Hooks to the jaw? Sugar Ray Robinson inside of 5 mismatched rounds.

Didnt check first to see how often this has been asked but atleast I didnt make a new thread.....

Sugar Ray Robinson vs Roy Jones Jr, both in prime middleweight form, who wins? Ill take a stab at this one as the RJJ fans cringe. Robinson wins a closer than expected decision, something like 116-112. At this stage in his career RJJ was almost the best boxer anyone had ever seen. Problem is he is facing arguably the best fighter anyone has ever seen. Rjj would come in cocky as usual and take control of the first half of the fight by avoiding shots and moving well. After a while however Robinson lands some decent shots that test the now well known shaky jaw of RJJ. Seeing RJJ hurt, SRR comes in for the unrelenting kill. RJJ at this weight and stage in his career can withstand even a tremendous fighter like Suger Ray, but gets frustrated and loses his focus while letting SRR come and take the win from under him. You have no idea how bad I wanted to write SRR KO RJJ in 6!

Jones was better at middleweight than Robinson. Robinson was inconsistent at 160, while Jones was at his peak. Jones W 15 Robinson, around 10-5.

I wonder how often Jones would have lost at Middleweight if say he faught there approx 110 times like SRR :o . Im pretty sure he would have dropped a few! :TU: Sure SRR might have lost but he was never KOd. He lost by TKO when he was overcome by heat exaustion against Maxim but that was it. In 110 fights, Id say RJJ gets exposed by the 50th and starts getting KOd pretty regularly. Dont let RJJs 5 years at middleweight, a record of 20-0 fool you into thinking he is better than the greatest boxer of all time. Dont count the fights at Super Middle, were just comparing the Middleweight records. OH, than actually the TKO loss to Maximn doesnt count because it was in the LHW division.

School him in what exactly? Jermain Taylor isnt in the same league as SRR. Or is this a joke post?
I take SRR to knock out RJJ as well

Taylor would outjab Robinson. Turpin did it, even Van Dam did it. Taylor would school Robinson and teach him how to box. The rematch would be closer, but Taylor's strength and combinations would save the day.

And Robinson hasn't got the power to knock out Roy Jones.

so because Taylor barely beat Hopkins twice, that makes him SCHOOL Robinson? Taylors strength and combinations? SRR had the best combos around at Middle. No one has to prove why SRR would beat Taylor, it is the other way around. Prove why Taylor would beat Robison.

It is pointles doing hypothetical battles involving SRR.

Nobody would have beaten him at welterweight & probably only Hagler & Monzon would have beaten him at middleweight & even that is debatable.

He would even have won the light heavyweight title had nature not taken it's course.

Taylor would've gotten schooled by Lloyd Marshall, forget Robinson.

I think Robinson would do a similar job on Taylor as he did to Turpin in the second fight. But without the cut. Robinson wouldn't have too difficult a night, although I do believe he is slightly overrated as a middleweight.

DoubleM then I would assume that you also rate Monzon over Robinson in the all time Middleweight division?
