ARCHIE MOORE, HIS FIRST ONE WAS COUNTED AS PRO AND IS THERE MINIMUM ROUNDS LIMIT REQUIRED? ALSO, DOES SOMEBODY KNOW ANY INFO ON GEORGE REEVES, SUPERMAN, AS A YOUNG MAN, HE WAS UNDEFEATED BOXER WITH GOLDEN GLOVES. HE WAS TO FIGHT ARCHIE MOORE ON JUNE 17TH, BUT ON THE 16TH HE WAS KILLED! I love how when new guys post for the first time everyone just blasts them into space, and they're never to be heard from again

This is some advice for you new guys:

Don't make your first post by starting a thread with some weird ass idea behind it. If you're new...you'll be destroyed. Start from the bottom and work your way up to making weird ass threads. Once you earn some respectibility THEN you can start making weird ass threads :TU: :TU: :TU:

Which is why I haven't made a weird ass thread yet

We all know that Marciano and Patterson each faced a horrific Murderer's Row of dastardly heavyweights, who'd give any fighter in the history of boxing a run for their money, and that all the fighters those two ducked were completely unable of walking, let alone competing in a heavyweight championship bout.
rocky marciano never ducked anyone. he was one of the few heavy champions in history who didnt. u have no evidence marciano ducked anyone. all of marcianos defenses were against # 1 or # 2 contenders.

patterson never ducked anyone, damato did. still patterson would have killed them.

Decagon---Can you actually debate boxing, or do you just go around trying to find someone that you think you can get one over on? You need to lighten up all together and try to actually talk boxing instead of trying to start arguments...I've just noticed that you have followed BB around through several threads making no statements about boxing, but instead trying to get under BB's skin with some rather ridiculous statements that certainly have no bearing on the topics.

Locking it up...no, you should be ignoring it if you don't like it...like most people do! It's a incorrect statement about Marciano having 50 wins, but with many of the comments that you have made you certainly have no room to judge whats a joke and what isn't! Besides, you never made any statement about the actual topic of 50 wins, your posts were directed at BB, who didn't start the post! You ask what are you suppose to do...friendly debate that stays on topic, you don't have to agree with anyone, but try to show them the same respect that you would like yourself...and that goes for everyone!

What does that have to do with anything?

I actual found that post to be pretty good, except the "glorified exhibitions" statement. Although I have never read an account of that bout, you did a good job with the description of the bout.

I use to try to answer things as fast as I could for that exact same reason, but after realizing that I was wrong as much as I was right I now try to take a little time to answer, unless it is just something that I am certain of, sometimes I jump the gun at that, like a question that just recently pop up about the first Mexican world champion...without thinking I immediately said, "Come on guys, it was Battling Shaw!" But as it turns out, I'm pretty sure that it was Baby Arizmendi as someone else stated after I had gotten it wrong.

Dont feel bad about the battling Shaw answer Barry. I posted the question Who was the first Mexican champ and the Ring record book had the answer as Chalky Wright. Turns out it might not be the right answer. Most posters said Arizmendi. I still dont know.

EMAIL ME, I WILL NEED YOUR ASSISTANCE, ALSO IF INTERESTED IN MY BOOK ON ROCKY'S 50TH FIGHT AND WHY HE REALLY QUIT, YOU WILL LEARN A LOT, THERE WAS ONE FIGHT AWAY FROM UNITED STATES, ROCKY NEVER MENTIONED IT BECAUSE IT WAS FOR A CHARITY AND I KNOW HE WON, BUT I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS A KNOCKOUT OR ON POINTS, IT WAS A 4 ROUNDS OR SO, OR SEMI-PRO, BUT STILL COUNTS, BECAUSE PEOPLE PAID TO SEE IT. HE ALSO NEVER MENTIONED IT FROM BEING SUED BY AL WEILL, HIS MANAGER.

ROCKY IS ONE OF THE GREATEST! THE RECORD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! :TU:
IS THE BOOK ALL IN CAPITALS TOO? OR HAVE YOU LOCATED THE CAPS LOCK KEY?

Anyway, let us know when the book comes out. I'm sure it will be a good laugh if nothing else.

The only confusion about Marcianos record I ever heard was the fact that he fought a few amateur bouts had a pro fight (Lee Eperson)Then fought amateur again, then of course he resumed fighting pro. I guess some thought the Epperson fight was an amateur bout but after extensive research , it was found to be his pro debut. I read this somewhere . I dont know where. Hell its late.

There was this cat on another board that was trying to say that Marciano was not undefeated as a pro. The guys logic was that since Marciano had one fight pro then everything after was pro. This cat still would not change his view even after I posted up newspaper clips of the Amateur competition that he competed in after that one pro bout. I don't recall off hand the number of amateur bouts that he had following that one pro bout, but it was something like four, or five of which ended with the loss to Wallace, but the dumbass who tried to argue that he was undefeated either was just an idiot who did not like to admit that he was wrong, or just someone that is really fornicating stupid because to continue with the view, even after proof has been shown to you, well it just boggles themind!

As to Marciano having 50 pro fights, well Marciano's career has been one of the most researched ever and it has been researched by some of the top historians in the world who just would not have missed a bout...besdies, if he would have had bout number 50 it would not matter how quiet that Marciano wanted to keep it, it would not have made a difference because it would have been big news all over the world, and would have been covered in every newspaper, magazine and anything else in hardcopy, so the claim would seem very much to be bullshit. If you have some actual proof, then present it, but I would bet everything that I own that there is no proof!
