Just had a look at Khan's opponent.

Just realised that I had the sole defeat on Martynov on DVD (Arslan vs Curzat was the main event live on Eurosport). So I had a look.
Didn't think much, whilst Blain is a non puncher, it was a nicely timed shot that took Martynov out. However, whilst he is tall and I think will be ambitious - is quite slow (comparing him to Blain), chin high in the air (although a decent guard), and unless he has improved I think his high KO% is indicative of the opponents he has faced - he was arm punching all the time.
Although it only lasted two rounds, it seemed that he fancies himself as a counterpuncher, but is two slow for this when up against Blain.
Blain has great potential of his own, but probably not as much as Khan.
I think this will be an easy win.

I've got a VIP backstage pass to this fight. Hopefully I'll post some photos here next week. I'm looking forward to the Jennings fight aswell.

Maybe it will be like a rock concert with all my mates hanging around with Amir's crew
We'll hit the town after he rocks and rolls (hopefully not on the canvas
) in the ring!

What are black sticks? They to shout through to cheer him on llike microphones?

If you read Nuts there latest issue interviews Khan and says he likes a good fry up before a fight like Hatton does and says you can't beat a good curry before a fight!
Least he don't baloon up like Ricky.
Did Hatton ever baloon up in his early days of fighting on undercards beating journymen when he was more active or did this just happen once he had the 2 to 4 fights a year?

Well, Khan doesn't drink, which is what Hatton's biggest issue is.

Just watched this fight as well , Martynov was slow and pretty upright and i wasn't so sure he was a counter puncher Stu he seemed to come forward pretty much but had no answers for Blain's superior speed. I think Khan will have too much speed for him. Blain caught him with a clipping left hook which sent Martynov upright and then came in with fast follow up left hook which droped Martynov. It should really have been waved off then but the ref let it go on so Blain could whack home another 3 or 4 punches before Martynov hit the canvas again and the ref called it off.
Overall Blain is a talent and dealt with this kid well, Khan i think will be too fast and throw too many classy shots for Martynov to cope. I expect a KO around 3 or 4.

Yeah the fight was quick but the stoppage was not premature. I mean the guy looked totally shell shocked. At least he left conscious.
Basically the guy looked like a tomato can to me. He had this sort of rabbit in the headlights look. And who the hell was he fighting to build up that record?
As soon as he started flailing away and was a about 8 inches short with his punches you knew the writing was on the wall. Credit to the matchmakers for being able to find such a formaility with such a nice ledger. It might deceive the general Joe Public but thankfully most of us know that a record doesn't mean jack.
As for Khan.....I expect the first ten or so fights to be against lukewarm bodies so it is going to be a while before I would hazard a guess as to how good he may or may not be. Kind of pathetic that this is the main event but I guess its demand and supply ie.- that wretched crap that is Celebrity Big Brother being so popular.

No wonder Mr Allegedly is always grinning....there are people gullible enough to buy tickets to see the crap he`s serving in guise of a fight...then his pockets will carry on getting fuller.
Barry McGuigan was disappointing tonight, he is selling out once again, he slipped a little truth in now and again but on the whole he arse-hole scraped to his paymasters golden goose.
