I set out in my little car to go to Notts last night.

BANG! My bloody exhaust snapped in half and hadn't even had the decency to warn me. Two hours I waited for the AA and then had to limp home.

Oh well, at least I could have a few drinks and watch what looked like a really decent card. And it was. Shame we never got to see most of it.

Riddle me this - how the fornicate can you have THREE hours of coverage and only show a 72-second fight and a 12-rounder?

I'm fully behind ITV and think it's brilliant that they are showcasing boxing which, despite its criticisms, ALWAYS does well in viewing terms when given a chance.

But come on...

Seems like you got the same fights that were shown on scandinavian TV. It was the first Warren card they have showed since signing a deal. The danish commentator said it was the worst production he had ever witnessed.

Sports Network put on a good little card there - we could have seen Concepion's surprise stoppage for a start, and certainly a supposedly new-look David Barnes.

The TV production yes.
The danish commentator didnt get any news from ITV that they didnt get anymore fights, so they stayed on air just showing the ring for about 20 mins. We didnt even get to see the post fight interviews,

thick as fornicate are the words that spring to mind. They should have known the Khan fight wasn't likely to last long, and it's not like the likes of David Barnes are utter unknowns. I set my Video recorder expecting to fill the tape with domestic fights and was sorely dissapointed.

I was really looking forward to seeing some of the undercard fights, but all we got was the Khan farce and and, I admit intertaing main even, but why TWICE????

And as for the McGuigan - McKenzie fighting talk segment, it has never worked so why do they keep soing it? Its so cringeworthy, Ricky Gervais would be proud to wright it.

I just can't fathom the mentality behind it all.

I think I will let ITV know how I feel abiut last nights coverage.

Their best show has been the Nelson vs Cantatore one - which considering was up against the Hatton PPV for boxing fans and was only on ITV4 did good ratings, so I have been told.

Why was it better.

No McKenzie in commentating, a nice studio, no fighting talk - just normal questions and answers and two full fights and one extra extended highlights.

This was rediculous - I mean a 72 second fight and they couldn't even fit the Jennings vs Mutley fight in full on the repeat and whilst I am greatful that we got Jennings vs Mutley live on ITV4 - was there that much point - that ITV4 slot could have been used for Barnes or someone else.

I ignore all that as long as I get the fight. 8)

Personally, I enjoy the commentary and informed opinions afterwards.

To think that we used to moan about the recent BBC coverage... which was almost proffessional by comparison to ITV.... it seems the people behind British TV have just not a clue as to how to present boxing anymore... they've forgotten that the main thing that the fans want to see are FIGHTS!!!!.
As for Khan!, his people are boasting now that he's ready for anyone, a title bout even!!! yet he still hasn't fought a natural Lightweight yet!... its a total farce!!!....

Can I just point out that the only time I've ever used the word 'smeg' is in this sentence.

I used my normal expletive beginning with 'f'.

If profanity is now banned, can this new regulation be added to the 'sticky' rules, please? A list of words to avoid might be useful for someone likes me, who has a tendency to litter my posts with this type of vocabulary.

Height has got nothing to do with it, there are featherweights and Bantamweights the same height as Khan, I suppose they would be a good match too?. If I was going to be jealous of a fighter I'd be jealous of someone like Floyd Mayweather, ...someone who has world titles and has proved himself an outstanding boxer...

Not the point. You said Khan had not fought someone genuinely his own weight. The guy was same height and same weight, just with more experience. Perfectly fine match up. Khan showed exceptional speed and strength. Job well done.
