Bit of a shock this one for me. Even though I had heard rumours that Damgaard was loosing interest in the fight game and was thinking of hanging the gloves up soon, I still thought he would be tioo fresh for the shopwarn Gatti. Despite this result I still think Gatti is in serious risk of damaging his health by continuing to fight and I still have little desire to see Hatton use him as a punchbag.

Well, I have been away for the weekend and have missed what sounds like one of the maddest and eventful weekends for British and otherwise boxing for a while

Relevance to this thread...hmm...Hill-Brudov sounds like quite an upset to me. Seems like a convincing win judging by the cards too, which shocks me quite a bit. Wouldn't like to see 'ol virg in with Bell though

I'd have thought Hill vs David Haye would be an interesting fight. Hill's obvious skill, experience and stamina (presumably) against Haye's power...I think it'd be a winnable fight for Haye.

Would Hill vs Nelson be the oldest combined aged unification fights of all time.

I haven't seen this latest performance, but seen most of his recent fights - I wouldn't mind seeing Hill vs Bell. Bell can be outboxed and has he the power to take out the tough Hill.

What a legend he is, deemed shot 10 years back.

Only goes to show how good Hearns was - he beat a prime Hill when faded.

Just underlines the difference between a very good fighter and a great one.

Although I seem to recall reading a report on the fight (I've never seen it) that Hill froze in a big way.

Virgil Hill is a great fighter, IMO.
