looking for sponsorship for solo Commonwealth Games bid

Leith Victoria’s Fundo Mhura was sensationally excluded form the Scotland squad for the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in March 2006. A combination of an inopportune bout of mumps preventing him defending his Scottish welterweight title in 2005; no subsequent box off; and chronic delays in processing the passport application of a lad who has lived in Scotland since the age of four months. This was disappointing to us especially considering his obvious ability and the proclaimed special relationship between Scotland and Malawi, neither of which appeared to assist his application. For a young prospect like Fundo this was a bitter blow. Fundo stated, "I am really gutted by this bureaucratic hitch as I was really looking forward to boxing for Scotland." Leith Victoria coach Jack Graham added: "Fundo had been working really hard in our gym ahead of the Commonwealth championships so this has come as a real shock to us all." Fundo has been thrown a lifeline after he was selected to box for Malawi, his country of birth. Henry Sakala general secretary of the Malawi Amateur Boxing Association saw DVD footage, provided by Leith Victoria, of him in action and was moved to offer Fundo a chance to box for Malawi. “In fact, all the stakeholders including the Olympic and Commonwealth Games Association as well as the government were very impressed,” stated Sakala.
Fundo has been thrown a lifeline in that he will be able to box in Melbourne, however due to his current circumstances he will have to pay for his own transport and training/preparation costs. Fundo would be helped greatly if he could secure sponsorship for his commonwealth bid. Former Scottish Welterweight champion, Fundo has also won Silver at the 4 nations Championship in 2004 bettering his bronze the previous season. Fund has won a host of medals at domestic and international level. This is from a lad who did not start boxing until he was 18. Fundo has real potential and association with his progress would only reflect well on any potential sponsor. You would also be helping a talented young man who deserves a break.
If you are willing to help Fundo please PM me, post contact details here or contact Leith Victoria via the link below.
