Did the BBC televise this fight? Anyone remember it?

They showed Eastmans comeback kayo of Chardan Ansoula & all of the fights that followed Osman, but never saw this plus never seen it listed on anybodys catalogues.

I fornicating love Howard hes my icon i would like to see this fight or at least here a report of it from someone who saw it.

2006- 35 yr old Battersea Bomber chins Jermain 'mr charisma' Taylor.

I have all fights with Eastman, except that one.

From my memory BBC did not show the whole fight but rather a clip at the end of their programme with the result.

I can't guarantee that just what I remember

I'm sure I have seen this fight. Can't think where though.

they only showed about 30 secs highlight - osman going at eastman trying to make it an inside fight and then retiring on his stool i think....

i remember that fight i was there, it was in dagenham. basicly osman come forward thru out in typical style trying to rough eastman up.eastman was winning the rounds farly comftable when osman picked up a cut and his corner pulled him out at the end of the fourth.

Nah, I'm collecting Howard Eastman fights. If you really understand boxing, then Howard Eastman is your number one pugilist.
For those millions who don't get Howard Eastman, there is always Gatti - Ward 1, 2 and 3.

Eastman is one of the most overrated fighters I can remember from these shores. Yes he got a title shot but he got that mandatory position beating Rob McCracken who wasn't really worthy of that status himself. Come on he lost to an over the hill William Joppy!

Hellephant - You said that you met Eastman in Germany before the Abraham fight and he was complaining that he was hungry - do you know if he ever ate before the fight?

It seems unbelievable that things like this happen - but I am sure that we're all human and it does!

The second time I saw him and Kofi, Eastman had bought fruit, so he had at least some food. This was in the centre of Nürnberg, and I guess you just can't pick any restaurant, but I'm sure they eventually found a proper place to eat.
I'm no expert, I don't know when or what a boxer eat the day of the fight, but don't they have a steady breakfast? When I saw Eastman is was like midday and he was rubbing his belly and really begging for food.

For those who don't get Eastman there's Gatti v Ward?? What you mean 2 fighters who actually try and win?? Also Gatti is a far better boxer than Howard and can throw combinations smoothly.

I like Eastman and he's a tough guy, but a average, lethargic boxer.

Give me Gatti v Ward any day

Oh that's why people love Gatti, because of his ability to throw combinations smoothly? And the fights between Gatti and Ward are so famous because of the great boxing skills shown? No, no, no it's all about blood, not boxing.

On March 24 Eastman will be KO'd into retirement.

But what i'm saying is Eastman doesn't show "great" boxing skills either and is one of the most frustating fighters around. You could make your argument if you were talking about Wright, Mayweather, Toney, Hopkins even but Eastman? Are you saying people who appriciate good boxing should prefer watching Eastman to Gatti v Ward?

Eastman DOES have good boxing skills seen some of the combos he leather Joppy with?? Jesus he coulda rolled over a horse with a few of em. Hopkins was too clever for him deffo, but in fairness B-Hop did run ALL NIGHT v Howard which was the frickin smart thing to do, of course.

Anyone who stands & trades with Howard will get bombed out because they wont budge him & he can kayo anybody. IMO.

Think you are vastly overestimating Howard's punch power mate. He has decent power, and is definetly heavy handed, but he is not a KO puncher, all his stoppages came by either ref intervention, or corner retirement, he hasn't got a single KO on his record, all TKO's.

Hopkins didn't run as such, he just never let Howard get set, and countered him the whole time. Bernard has a chin as good if not better than Howard's, as he's tested it against far better opposition in general, and he absolutely brutalised Joppy.

Joppy was knocking lumps out of Howard in some of those rounds, which is why Howard took to showboating and arseing around, Joppy was outlanding him 2-1 and landed some meaty uppercuts in the 6th-7th-8th. Joppy was no puncher, but he showed that Howards skills were limited. After that fight I knew Howard would never become a world champion, just doesn't have the skills to beat a true elite level fighter, nor the desire to work hard enough to overwhelm an opponent capable of hitting back often enough to deter him.

Eastman has the skills, James. Its the fire thats missing from his belly that holds him back.

Ive been watching him since the mid 80's SW Divs. He was always too laid back.

But getting back to my original point. Im a completist freak so do any of the traders tape the HLs of him whacking Osman on BBC?

Even if its 30 secs id like to get it.

Does that make me a loser? Probably.
