Recently i have been thinking about the jesus chavez vs. Marco Antonio Barrera fight and I was wondering how his fight with Levander Johnson(in which we all know he unfortunately passed away) will affect his psyche?

How did Ray "Boom Boom" Mancini handle his fight?

How did Lupe Pintor,Emile Griffith or Nigel Benn (even though McClellan didn't die) feel afterwards and did that affect them?

Usually the family of the boxer who died forgives the fighter and supports and consloes their guilt but has there been any instance in which they didn't feel that way?

After a tragedy like that, no boxer is the same. Some fighters still are able to win, but usually they don't fight with the same aggression they used to. I've been wondering about Chavez myself. Personally, I think he'd have beat Barrera, but now i'm not so sure. I still feel very sadened about the Johnson tragedy. I don't know how Johnson's family reacted, but from what I've heard, they don't blame Chavez. It's is very sad and ironic that Chavez' ring name "El Matador" turned out to be true.

Isn't it wierd though? I know it wasn't his intention to kill Owen but technically he did. I saw a picture of Owens parents embracing Pintor and I was thinking to myself that boxing is the only sport that makes these ironies possible. It was really moving.

I aggree Gabriel Ruelas was never the same, he showed signs against Gatti and the Ruelas of old would have gotten up - you can see it in his face and same thing when he fought Azumah Nelson.

Reid is a punk if thats true.

Sugar Ray Robinson remember, had a premenition a few days before a fight that he was going to kill his opponet. A priest came to calm him down and his premenition came true and his opponet died. They say Ray never truly got over that and actually held some of his punchs back.
