I want to know your opinions of who was the best lighteweight of the 80s???

The best lightweights by decade:

1900s: Joe Gans
1910s: Freddie Welsh
1920s: Benny Leonard
1930s: Tony Canzoneri
1040s: Ike Williams
1950s: Joe Brown
1960s: Carlos Ortiz
1970s: Roberto Duran
1980s: ??????????????
1990s: Pernell Whitaker

I can't see a clear winner as the best lightweight of that 80s decade...Who was the best lightweight of the 80s and why???

It was a very competitive division in the 1980s. Arguello, Chavez, Rosario, Whittaker, Jimmy Paul all held the title(s) for a while and were all accomplished fighters.

Chavez and Whittaker, i cant decide who was best in the 80s but Whittaker beat him in 93 although it was called a draw
