DLH takes Pryor to school but takes a pretty good beating along the way. (I'm going to take a beating from some on this one)

Toney and Hagler....Everyone is going to go with Hagler but I just would love to see it no matter what the outcome. And I think this one could have some real firework style surprises along the way.

I think Ali outpoints Louis in a tactical battle

Nelson would dominate McGuigan but we would all see a great fight

I would love to see Whitaker easily outpoint and perhaps KO Camacho that would be just a pleasure to watch. But your right it could be boring but Pernell might just feel confident enough by the middle rounds to press it and end it. I would love to see that.

actually hagler was only 32 years old

Monzon Hagler almost happened. In real time Hagler would have won IMO. However at primes I think Monzon takes care of business.

In 1977 Hagler would have won. Monzon couldn't get into shape though, so it never went ahead. Prime-for-prime, I'd pick Hagler by razor thin decision.

What a great fight that would have been. They're my two favorite middleweights. I think prime for prime Mozon would beat Hagler by razor thin decision. I'd agree that's debatable though, both were awesome fighters. I also have them as my top 2 middleweights. Anyway to add to the topic, i'm suprised it has not been mentioned.. Duran vs Chavez. I'd favor Duran by UD but it'd be a competitive war I think.

You guys are on drugs. Hagler over Monzon? laughable.....you guys really seem to believe Hagler was a boxing god. He was a plodding south paw, even is his so called prime.

I think that you have just had your ass kicked by several left-handers throughout your life and as a result you now have an undying hatred toward any southpaw!

I'd really want to give Jackson, Langford, Jeanette, Wills their fair crack at the titles. You can add Charles, Burley, Marshall and Bivins to that list too.

Ringsider obviously hasn't seen a prime Hagler, or just doesn't like him. I mean, watch him bouncing in and out in the Minter fight, or dancing away from Briscoe. Plodding? Yea, right. Slow? Watch those tapes again. Hagler was quick.

This is the same Ringsider who thinks Harry Greb and Willie Pep aren't greats because they didn't have a pulverising punch.

Yeah ask some of the guys he battered into submission if he was plodding!

Hey for my money Monzon and Hagler were both greats, however I'm more overall impressed with Monzon's body of work and I think at prime he gets the job done over the Marvelous one.

However, I'm glad they did not fight in real time because I think it couldve gone like a Louis Marciano or Ali Holmes. The superior overall "lifetime" fighter loses to the truly great younger fighter. Then a certain percentage of fans would forever point to the "W" as proof positive of their fighters superiority.

I've always been interested in Joe Gans his career and ability could quite easily place him as the best at anyone of a couple of weights...

Bobby Dobbs - Jock McAvoy, Archie Moore, Ezzard Charles, Lloyd Marshal, Bob Foster, Roy Jones Jr. any and all of the great L-HWs including the "fraud" MW Hopkins...

There are "hundreds" of mythical match-ups, the best would be against World Champions and the feared fighters they ducked!

I already feel that Marvin is the hands down 2nd best MW ever...call me biased, I'm from Mass. But the way he dominated that division until he "lost" to Ray was insane. The fact he didn't receive a rematch in my eyes shows how much Ray knew he would be in trouble in a second fight.

Still can't believe he won a 12 round fight by fighting the last 15 seconds of every round and punching Hagler's elbows.

Hey Boxbuzz, I'm with you on all your verdicts, though I think Robinson wins a close decision, DLH too fast and a mover for Pryor, Ali easily outpoints the flat footed Louis. Nelson beats Barry but Barry puts up a real gutsy performance. Toney at his peak I feel was a defensive wizard with a wicked offense, so Hagler loses a decision. As for Whitaker, I think he's too cute for even Hector
