Favourite British fight?

What's your favourite British fight?
It should involve 2 Britons, fighting for any kind of title (or no title if you like).
I've had a good think & I'm going to break with convention & choose a fight that isn't so well known, worldwide.
It's the 1985 British middleweight title fight, between Mark Kaylor & Errol Christie.
It was a cracking fight, made all the more intense by the fact that the build-up was almost as explosive, as the 2 men hated each other so much.

I must say 2 of my favorite fights ended in tragic circumstances.
Watson v Eubank and Benn v McClelland. To wars!

One of my favourites has got to be the small hall fight I saw last year between Gareth Couch and Henry Castle.
This was a great fight - 6 rounds of toe to toe fighting, no man backing down. It was a shame that there had to be a loser.
I think this was voted Small Hall Fight of the year in Boxing News.

The best British title fight I've seen (on TV) would be Michael Ayres v Colin Dunne.
Perhaps the best I've attended could be PJ Gallagher v Charles Shephard.
Really though the list is inexhaustable, every year Britain churns out fights that will live in the memory forever.

Jimmy Vincent v David Walker - a classic
Then any of...
Wayne Rigby v Michael Ayres (1)
Colin Dunne v Billy Schwer
PJ Gallagher v Charles Shepherd
Watson v Benn
Eubank v Benn (1)
And if I'd been aroud in those days I guess I'd have said Eric Boon v Arthur Danaher

On TV it would have to be the first Ayers v Rigby fight.
Live, I was ringside for Alexander v Samuels that was a great fight. Then when I got home watched Morales v Barrera 1 live on Sky. What a night!!

I have a very soft spot for Scott Dixon v Derek Roche. Remember that one?
I've got to find what tape that is on one day...

Cracking fight, real see-saw battle.
I got hold of a copy of the Derek Roche 'The Rebel' biography the other week. Apparently Scott Dixon sparred with Garry Delaney to get used to Derek's strength.
