You know I had a preminition something like this would happen. Looking at all the possible opponents yesterday, most are tied up now - Cotto, Corrales, Castillo, Freitas etc.

I had an inkling for Ben Rabah actually, but Harris wouldn't be a surprise given the Hatton's are fast running out of time.

Surely not Vivian Harris??????? Hatton just beat the man who beat him, its pointless.

Before his surprise loss Harris had put together a decent body of work - his loss to Maussa could be point down to over confidence and poor preparation in terms of weight making.

Still, I had hoped for more from Hatton's big entry into the US market.

True if Harris were to fight Gatti I would pick Harris.

Harris is a real dangerman. The Maussa loss in misleading - based on his 2 or 3 very impressive peformances before that loss, I think it's safe to say he was obviously not himself that night: Nearly flattened Maussa with his first shot, then put everything into a first round KO and was knackered after 5 minutes.

He's a slick boxer with a right hand that can put you to sleep. Not a fight I'd take if I were managing Hatton but a great fight for the fans I think.

Harris is dangerous and still top 5 in the division imo

Unfortunately, having lost to Maussa and looking bad on American TV, beating him may be tough, but won't bring him a lot of recognition

Harris went a litte crazy before that fight, he actually went for a huge run after the weigh-in. He weighed less in the ring than he did at the weigh in, I think he was 132 on the night.

Something seemed wrong with him but maybe they made this up as an excuse.

The footwork of Harris is nothing special but his punching ability should be respected.

No way would he have blown up so quickly against Maussa if there wasn't something seriously wrong with his (long term or short term) preparation.

Not interested in this match - the only reason I was interested in it before Hatton was champ was because Harris had a belt. I saw it as an easy belt back then, and nothing has changed my mind.

He's not that fast, can get caught a fair amount - he does have decent power but then nothing like Kostya Tszyu.

I wonder if Baldomir vs Gatti will happen, and Hatton is confident Gatti will become a three weight world champion.

Think he would only have been netting 50-100 from that 750 after everyone got their slice in fairness to the man. So even if he got half of 500k it would be more

Doubt this fight will happen. Harris is dangerous with little to no reward. Harris can certainly win this - he brings the same proposition that Zoo did imo except Harris may have a wider range on his punches. If anyone thinks Harris is a soft touch they really haven't been following his career - beat Hurtado, Ukral faster than Zoo and beat Mbaiye. The Maussa fight was a fluke loss. I'd give the Ricky that fought Zoo the clear edge but if Rickys under prepared I'd pick Harris to take him.

Bad matchmaking. I'm glad if it is made because I think it will be a great fight but if Hatton lets too many of those right hands in it's goods night.

Didn't Harris duck Hatton once as a mandatory?

I am actually happy with this fight to be honest, Let's remember Harris is much better than the fighter we saw against Maussa, That was a blip nothing more.

What we will see with Harris vs hatton is how Hatton copes against a fighter with the ability to KO him with one punch, and against a fighter that carries this power for 12 rounds.

Is Hatton vs Baldomir a better fight?

Is it hell, In terms of getting another title and maybe making a better case for a fight against Mayweather...maybe, but in terms of opponent Harris IS the better fighter!

This fight is intriguing in a few different ways some of which I have mentioned BUT it is only acceptable because we believe we will get to see Hatton in with one of the big guys next...

I am not happy with Gatti afterwards though, For me it has to be one of the big boys....Although if he fought Gatti then Mayweather I would be placated...I am sure he will be reassured by that!

I believe it was. Apparently he continued to train right after the weigh in and went for a run in the scorching heat on the day of the fight. What a plank.

I wasn't there as I went to the Williams-Skelton one. but they didn't announce an opponent, all the news was that the court case had ended.

Dennis Hobson stated that the Warren funded court case had failed and that Hatton was unbeaten in and out of the ring.

Robert Waterman stated that Roman Greenberg would fight 4 or 5 times this year and opponents would include Sam Peter, Larry Donald, Oliver McCall, Chris Byrd or Wladimir Klitscko.

The UK undercard for the Hatton fight would include Climton Woods defending and Esham Pickering challenging for the IBF Featherweight Title.

Greenberg and Gareth Couch (who lost to Kevin Mitchell in the ABA Final) fight in Monaco on March 18th with several Ukranian prospects on the card.
