Hi gents,

just wondering if any of my old verbal sparring partners might be around? (I'm afraid I always used the site, but never the forum over here... and this place is made even better coz nob-for-brains Dawson doesn't seem to be around! haha!). :box:

best wishes

"T.M.K"

ps: Love the name "My T Sharp"....makes me think of Eddie Murphy in Coming To America - which coincidentally is where former Commonwealth champ Chris Okoh got his handle from. :TU:

:TU: That's where I 'borrowed' it from...those old blokes in the barbers arguing about boxing are quality. Didn't realise Okoh used it 8) .

I must admit that I was a gobby twat when I first started posting but it was for purely research purposes as I wanted to get a whole load of debates going for lots of perspectives to use in my articles. Through private emails and that I made that clear to Lee and the regular chaps but if I did insult anyone who is now posting here or wind them up a bit please accept my apologies as it was all a bit of a game. So no offence intended. :TU:
Yeah I know, Paul is the consience I never had. Top bloke!

Paul loves his MMA, we went to Cage Rage earlier in the month for his birthday it was a good night.

They were both fucked at the end... really pushed themselves to the limit.

It was a breathtaking fight. Have to say though neither would last a minute with Liddell. There has been talk of Manhoef possibly moving to Pride I think he'd get annihilated there. Cage Rage is good but the standard is a good way below Pride & UFC. What a war though they could barely lift their hands at the end! Where did you get a copy of that fight? Wasn't it on Sky??

I saw that Cyborg fight the other night on Sky. Not really a huge MMa fan, but that was entertaining. As you say, they were both fucked.

For what its worth I think Vitor would have submitted Manhoef pretty quickly, he has little or no ground game.

I had to do Muay Thai and Kickboxing at the age of 7 so when I jumped to boxing I had to endure years of "Such and such a MMA guy would hammer any of your boxer's"

I'll give it a bash though and watch the tapes. I suppose you guys know that Tyson is a ref in an upcoming event? Is that a recognised one or what Paul derides as not-UFC?
Not sure any idea what the event is called? UFC & Pride are the best but there are plenty of other decent promotions about.

my flatmate had it on his PC, presumably dowloaded from somewhere..
Had Manhoef is his K1 fight against Bonjasky too, manfred holding is own for most of the fight.

Poor Cyborg broke is hand in that fight( V Manfred).... spent six hours in casualty, didnt get seen so flew back to brazil in severe pain...

Cage Rage is getting better, attracting more and more quality oversea's fighters... unfortunately the real elite generally are contracted to UFC or Pride..
However Pride and Cage Rage have a deal i Believe where they can use certain Pride fighters on Cage Rage shows..

Shame Extreme Force havent done another show. they had a great show down at wembley about 2 years ago ..

Tyson shows up all over the place, K1, UFC ....

Terence wrote:Nick, I think it is Cage Rage? I thought that was the name of an event but is it a strand of MMA? Tyson is "special ref" so it all sounded a bit WWE to me. Will it be orchestrated or will Mike get a chance to do some damage?
Just different promotions, the same sport. I dont think its Cage Rage not heard anything about Tyson appearing - it is a UK promotion. King of the Cage (KOTC) perhaps?

Yep and stomps but only when the referee signals 'open guard' i.e. the guy has to be on his back and able to defend himself the ref sticks his hand in the air and then kicks to the head etc are allowed. As you know if someone is on their back with their legs pointing at you its pretty tough to kick them in the head. Someone tried a flying foot stomp at the last CR it was unbelievable how much height he got on his jump.

nice, the japanese fighters love doing that... typically a BJJ guy will be on his back trying to stall the action and they will try and leap right over him....
I remember Sakaraba used to do it all the time....and Genki Sudo is good at it too....

Hi there,

well actually I didn't explain that very well. Okoh got his name fromt he same skit, coz he called himself "Bad Mama Jama", which was used by Arsenio Hall to describe "Cassius Clay" I think it was. Eddie Murphy's barber was arguing something about Muhammed Ali-Cassius Clay not being as good as Joe Louis, Eddie Murphy's white-Jewish man character was saying "Muhamed Ali" is what you should call him, and Hall's guy sitting in the chair said "Cassius Clay was a bad mama jama..." although my memory is not great - aint seen it for a while.

Oi Oi geezer!!!! Seems ages ago since we met last, and how time flies.... least we're both married men now! My missus is doing great, we are doing lots of things and making new plans for the future - and best of all is our baby boy who is now 4 months old!

I still remember that curry with you and Galveston Jack, dunno how you ate such a hot one ya mad git! :P

Terence wrote:I started using it about 18 months ago but there are a few too many "Know all, sparred no-ones" there now. I posted as Jiggaman but use my own name here and still post there a few times to catch up with Hook, Conky, Lee and Matt W. Trish is still talking shite and Moochie has disappeared since I started posting as "Coochie" and ripped the piss out of him.
Jigga! How ya doin mate? :TU:

Hello buddy!!! Long time no speak! I'm glad someone else has the same name as before..... 2 out of 4 so far! Tell you what, I can't think of you and Conky without that night at York Hall where he went-off on one.... :D I know it wasn't funny at the time as he was in a bit of a huff, but looking back that was kinda amusing!

Must say it'd be great to catch-up with you all again, knock back a few beers and chat boxing!
