I think that Ray Leanord fits the criteria too, to my own surprise, but I can't quite grant him the same kind of integrity that the guys I mentioned deserve (in my mind). Looks like there's some kind of working class/underdog bias going on in my mind here.

Dick Tiger if I recall though he did throw out some questionable comments about some decisions such as the Emile Griffith 2. Which was a decision that was indeed totaly in line with reality.

I think for modern day Kostya Tszyu fits that. Though me thinks BigZab is setting me up on this one. .....I'm sure I'll get a retort on this.

Zab called out Kostya just before the Baldomir fight. Zab looked shit against Baldomir. If Kostya ain't gonna step up after that showing, either

A. He is really smart, and see's that Zab threw the fight to get a payday.
B. He is plain shit scared of Zab Judah.

I mean, dude, it's not like Kostya Tszyu displayed anything other than one lucky punch when they fought. What did I miss? Did he nonechalantly dodge Judah's finest, fastest flurry's with minute defensive head movements in the first round? Did he just plain look like he owned Judah from the bell to start round two? I don't wanna go over old ground anymore, I'm sure you catch my drift.

Anyway, who remembers Tszyu's post fight interview, when asked if he would give tantrum boy a rematch,

I tend to agree about RJJ. Undoubted talent but did he fight everyone he should have? I know Benn always wanted to fight him and then retire but Jones was having none of it and mover upto LH.

charles didnt stink up the place vs layne, layne simply proved when he brings his A game he was a very good fighter who was a threat to the best.

if any time charles stinked up the place it was against nino valdes in 1953.

- in the recent years charles had been on the wrong end of some bad decisions, like the layne II, harold johnson, and to some walcott IV(accoring to ringside). the real bad decision people dont know is harold johnson fight. i recentley saw the fight after someone told me they thought charles was robbed and I totally agree with there view, charles defintley won.

so if u think about it.......entering the valdes bout charles really hadnt lossed since 52 when he failed to regain the title from walcott. u can even say charles hadnt lossed since he was knocked out by walcott in 51 since some believe charles was robbed in that 4th walcott fight.

charles was the # 1 heavyweight contender who realistically hadnt lossed since the walcott fights. valdes, at the time, was a fringe contender with a horrible record who looked like would be an easy fight. however charles showed up out of shape(193lb), unfocused, and took valdes way too lightly and the big cuban proved he was a lot better than his record indicated scoring a big uspset win over ezzard.


but if ur ever going to complain of charles shitting the bed, it was the valdes fight! the first fight he legitley lost since the walcott fights and charles had been the huge favorite pre fight!
