I'm interested to see if Danny Williams turns in at 19st + again after telling everyone what great shape he's in.

"I'll need the weight to push Skelton around"...

What happened to Williams being in the shape-of-his-life?

During the build-up to most of Williams' bouts, all we hear is 'I'm training so hard, the best condition of my life' etc. If Danny was in great shape, he would not weigh 19st 1lbs, simple as that!

It seems the days of two HW's both coming in top-condition are long gone!

Totally agree the he's only 6ft 2. No matter how big a frame you have , he should never be that weight.

I can see this being a wrestling match

lets just hope the ropes dont snap when both fighters lean on them

Danny must not have trained much harder then he did for Audley. I watched his fight against Potter the other night. If only Danny could get himself down to that weight again. This will turn into a wrestling match, and Skelton will just outwork him.

Well, looks like I was bang on the money, Danny 'the whale that walks' Williams has turned up at a whopping 267 yet again. Skelton is taller and carries his weight pretty well, and is almost a whole Stone lighter.

I'm definetly backing Skelton now, unless Danny manages to knock him out I cannot see him winning this.

it's a golden rule. Whenever a fighter says "I am in the condition of my life" it means they have done sod all training

Then comes the "our strategy is to use the extra weight to......."

It is a load of bollocks and DW is just predisposed to being a fat pig.

Skelton remains my pick

I wasn't expecting rapid weight loss with his ankle injury, but this is just woeful. Unless Danny can recreate the Kali Meehan performance it's going to be a painful night. :box:

Is 37st 4lbs a record for a British Title fight?

I dont think anyone heavier than skelton or williams has ever fought for the title...so i guess this must be the heaviest ever combination...

Mirovic V Skelton was big for the commonealth.... not sure if it was heavier though

I thought it was 19 st and half a pound?

This fight will just shade out the Skelton-Miro fight. I can't give you the presice numbers because I did it in my head and forgot them immediately, but this is heavier by 3 or 4 lbs

Danny's better than Mirovic and if he can hurt Skelton then wonder how Danny can!

I've just seen the pair of them on the news and although Skelton is lighter he looks bigger. To me that says that Williams should be no where near 19st although he didn't look fat, actually he looked a bit more toned than Skelton. I think Williams should be about 17'7 - 18'2 for his frame. I mean much bigger boxers have weighed less than Williams. Lewis is a prime example. I think Williams just hasn't got it in him. He was potentially a good boxer but for whatever reason, mainly laziness, attitude and mental fragility he will always remain a decent national boxer and nothing more.

Williams would walk through Skeleton at 240-250, at 268 it makes it 50-50, Williams has far better skills, speed, power, technique, defense - Skeleton can make Williams work hard. If they go toe-toe I pick Williams by KO but if Skeleton forces him on the back foot or boxes at a high pace it'll be close

I stopped believeing Danny was any good years ago. The guy had the ability and power to be very good but he wasted it. At least Skelton has a good attitude. Williams has been moaning for years about how good he could be blah blah blah. He'll still be saying the same thing in 10 years!

Reckon this fight will be a bit of a stinker, myself. Probably a close points win for Skelton.

Third choice

Matt Skelton has less hair.
