Regardless of his former unbeaten record, we all knew Skelton wasn't that good. But is Danny's win a good thing for British boxing? I mean regardless that he has now beaten the two other British hopefuls, he has already failed at both European and World level. So what now?!

The "undefeated" never gets old so I think it's bad. Fighters are much more marketable when they have 0 losses.

Valuev Vs D.Williams would be similar to his fight vs Klitschko. Obviously Vitali is the much better boxer compared to Valuev.

Exactly. I expect Valuev to beat Danny, but then where does that leave the British heavyweight scene? Even worse off than it was before tonight.

I can't see Danny doing any better at a second title shot to be honest; but if he's beat the other two Brits hes got to deserve it.

Yeah, he deserves it on those merits. But it isnt very encouraging.

Danny is finished - he just can't work hard enough. I'm up for 5 minute rounds. It's too easyto spoil a fight and win technically at the moment. But Wiimas was better technically. Skelton would be facing a DQ if he got that far in a world bout.

the fight itself was good for british heavyweight boxing. i think the result was probably right and danny is better technically than valuev.
i thought skelton wasnt that bad, his uppercut caused williams problems and its nice to see a british fighter with so much will to win.
i'd like to see skelton carry on and get a rematch.

i feel silly saying it but this was a very good contest

Yep, you're right, this really isnt much of a surprise. I guess the prospect of Danny fighting for the world title (one of them!) just sounds even less inticing than the unbeaten Skelton.

Damn right!!!!! O'Conner wants shagging up the arse after that display!! Every time Skelton went on the offensive O'Conner split them. Ok alot of the time Skelton was crude going in, but on at least a dozen occasions Williams just turned away from shots, and O'Conner split them up, for no other reason than Williams looked in trouble. Terry O'Conner had an agenda tonight, that much was obvious!!!!!!!!!!! Disgusting!!. Williams LOST THAT FIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Williams KO'd Tyson, therefore he is marketable on the international scene. Far more marketable than Skelton. The result was manufactured for Fwank Warren to make optimum money. Skelton Won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree fella's, was a close one but i felt Skelton won, it hurts me to say it but i feel Williams won cos he was the bigger name, maybe a load of bollocks but i think Skelton was Screwed tonight.

Be fair JJJ, O'Conner could have docked apoint or two in the early going. If it was world title in USA the ref would have.

I had Skelton winning over 12, but in a fight to the finish, Williams woud have KO'd Matt, regrdless of ITV BS. Danny aint no world champ anyway.

I had it a draw 114 - 114 and you could a little argue for Skelton but he should of been deducted some points for all those fouls anyway so no arguements that it went to Danny from me.

I loved that bomb he threw and that cut Skeltons head though!
