what happened to Harris?
This has been so drawn out and long winded with so many names of varied degrees of drawing power mentioned they are in serious danger of incurring people's extreme apathy by the time they do announce an opponent, cos I gotta be honest at this moment in time it could be Jorge Arce or Lamon Brewster, I really couldnt care less.

Hobson et al say they want Rabah, so its Rabah, an easy no risk defense and a mandatory or a tough dangerous unknown? Easy decision.

Maybe it wasn't all Warren after all...

No it wasn't. It was Hatton. and this proves it, along with Maussa and trying to fight Baldomir. I didn't see him trying to get a fight with Judah when he was champ?

Harris obviously looked to risky for team Hatton. This short list looks piss poor for a fighter who's at the top of his game - waste of time and doubt they'll sell many tickets for this in America.

If its Rabah or Diaz then it will be very disappointing from Hatton. He is the world no.1 at 10st and should be proving it.

They'd struggle in the UK with those opponents. That 20,000 capacity circus tent is looking a bit redundant.

Why would he have wanted to of fought Judah? While Judah was champ a weight division above, Hatton had yet to establish himself at his own weight. When Hatton did finally establish himself Judah lost his title. Hatton has yet to fight at welterweight and is only looking at the possibility now because of the lack of lucrative fights left at 140. A Judah fight was never on the cards or even a possibility, go back to your Hatton running from Mayweather arguements, they have more merit to them.

As far as the 3 listed opponents for Hatton, they are all awful. Bring on Harris or Margarito.

Hes taking a shit opponent but:

1. the shit opponent is his mandatory - he'd be stripped otherwise
2. Judah/Mayweather/Cotto/Castillo/Corrales/Gatti/Baldomir are all tied up
3. If he beats Harris/Witter/Margarito - so what, if he losses all the big money fights disapear

I'm seen as a Hatton Hater but lets be realistic. Hatton will either face 1 fighter from the list in point 2 or no one of any danger. I was excited about a Harris fight but was very sceptical whether it would actually happen.

BTW Hatton is in danger of becoming Calazage mark 2. He isn't maximising his earning potential.

So how come he's only being realistically mentioned as an opponent now? Where they quite happy to be stripped if they got a fight with Acelino Frietas?

Doesn't he have to fight him in 2 fights or something? I'm not saying Hatton isn't looking for the easiest fights for the most money because he is and he has been all along - hes a Manc isn't he :D

Hatton established himself by beating Tszyu a while back. Why didn't he look for Judah then? Why is he going for Baldomir all of a sudden? Hatton wouldn't go near judah.

Rabah and Diaz are WORSE opponents than Gatti and Bruselles.

Yet another disgrace from Hatton. He doesn't have to fight Rabah next. But he always looks for the easiest possibility of making the most money.

I dont know, you made the point.

Personally I like Juan Diaz but he's not even a big puncher at 135. That is too easy an option for my liking.

Diaz won't take the fight and Collazo has a mandatory defense that he's stated over and over he's going to make; so it's a short list of one.

They don't have to take on Rabah yet, he's mandatory, but Ricky hasn't held the belt for a year yet. I think they are looking for a low risk fight for the first bout in America.

I'll give them this one, but if Hatton fights another mug after this one, then questions will be asked.

Ah, I had this big long message about him only have 4 months to defend it right now, but forgot his IBF belt was on the line vs Maussa....DAMN HIM!

How many mugs does he need??.... maussa was hardly Floyd Mayweather... Harris was beaten by Maussa and Ricky is still shy of him!.
I'm sorry to raise this old chesnut again but if Ricky really had any pride he'd call out Witter and settle things with him once and for all... i'm sure most fans would rather see Hatton vs Witter finally rather than Hatton vs Rabah, Harris or Baldomir!!!....

Because not everyone is like Mayweather where they win a title and don't even defend it once before moving up. Hatton had no reason to want a Judah fight and he had an easy but lucrative Maussa fight at his own weight. He was suddenly looking at Baldomir because there was no one else of name value to fight in May, simple as that. A Judah fight was never even on the table.

So you honestly think he would be looking to fight Judah at 147 if he was still champion.

I believe he would of looked at the possibility if the money was right but he wouldn't of got the fight even if he did pursue it anyway because Mayweather had a fight with Judah tied up before he even fought Baldomir.
