No way! I love Mayorga - he is an orifginal. I would love to see him wipe that saccharine golden smile off Oscar's face.

Oscar is too corporate (say the right thing, be American values friendly) - Mayorga is just his own man.

Bit OTT in my view and with King quoting this 2m PPV figures it smacks of over acting. Sure De La Hoya looks like he is getting the arse, I'm sure he wont mind it when he get his paycheck at the end of the fight!

So many questions surrounding how much Oscar has left, this fight is intriguing. Prime for Prime - Welter for Welter, Oscar would have won with plenty to spare, but at Light Middle - tougher ask.

I'm not sure Oscar has the power to back up Ricardo (unlike Tito), he also probably no longer has the movement of Cory Spinks which baffled Mayorga.

Mayorga is a big puncher (a little overated in that respect but definately the puncher in the fight) and has fast hands. With a 20 month lay off, can DLH avoid the bombs, what happens if Ricardo can walk through DLH's punches.

VERY intriguing at this weight and at this stage in DLH's career.

Agreed, this is all utter bollocks to sell PPV.

Not sure it's over acting... Mayorga does things like this in the build up to every fight does he not

This fight has gradually become more interesting to me, too. Mayorga will be able to do 12 rounds at light-middle and will inevitably come forward throwing. DLH, I think, will meet him head on (on the back foot) and the exchanges should be explosive. I expect DLH's combos to tell, though if - like you say - Mayorga can walk through them (which I doubt, but you never know) then it could lead to an intruiging close down the stretch. At the moment I think DLH will wear him down between 9 and 11, but it should be an exciting, flashy affair - worth watching, IMO.

slightly off topic, watched mayorga forrest 1 today, was clas to see mayorga wipe the smile off the rapping forrests face. he'd just signed a 6 fight deal a couple of weeks before with HBO, think mayorga was as far as 10-1 during the afternoon of the fight - quality.

I love the way some latin fighters use the fact that their fighting for their people excuse.

i dont see oscar trying to trade with mayorga (altho that is CLEARLY what all the prefight attacks by mayorga are intended to draw him into), but rather oscar will use the METHODICAL BREAKDOWN strategy he used against vargas in 2002!! even tho oscar may not be as good as he was in '02, mayorga is nowhere near as good as vargas was in 2002 (or even now for that matter)...while oscar's footwork is not as good as before, i think it is good enuf to do the job against one-dimensional mayorga---oscar by easy decision, or as you said possible late round TKO!!

the more i see oscar the more he looks like omar shieka.
