Hunter wins TKO rd 2, premature stoppage from the ref (Jailauov didn't go down). The first round was even though.

What was up with that? Did they call last orders at the bar or something? The referee seemed in a hurry to get out of there.

That was the worst stoppage I've seen in a championshop fight. Hunter caught him with a decent shot yeah but it's a fight and you are expected to get caught with decent shots in a championship fight. I didn't see any change in his fighting style after getting hit and he wasn't under immense pressure, was still aware on his surroundings and just seemed focused on slipping Hunter who was building some steam. Terrible, terrible stopage

Terrible stoppage. Embarrassing to watch. The guy wasn't even that badly hurt, and Hunter is a light puncher anyway.

Probably! I don't know, I stopped watching I was so pissed off!. Shame we can't blame the latest crap from SKY on FW!!... old alleged is actually putting on some decent fights lately!.... whats the bloody world coming too!!!.... :x :x :x

The refs in the pros and the decisions are getting more like Amateur boxing every week!

What a load of shit. Ok he got caught with a good one but when he turned himself round he was clearly okay.

At the end of the days it wasnt Hunters fault he looked sharp and caught him with a good shot, things are still on for Dunne, cant wait xD

I decided not to travel up to Hartlepool as I'm a bit busy and going to the MEN tonight.

When I watched it at home, I'm pleased I did! Looked like a classic case of an inexperienced ref panicking. But the guy is very experienced.

When the challenger was spun round, the ref thought he was badly hurt and intervened - he would have looked like a tit if he stepped back so he waved it off! Really premature. But I was only going to be coming from Sheffield. Imagine if you had come from Kazakhstan?!

You covering the fight for BBN Ian, if so, you're a lucky bastard. I'd love to have been at this one, but just too expensive with travel and accomodation.

Before the fight, I thought he looked inexperienced as well. Then after it was over Jim Watt said how experienced he was. It showed.

Those are two excellent wins for Conway. I'd thought he just squeezed past an overweight, unmotivated Kotai the first time, though I've since been looking for info on it and apparently he kicked the Hungarian's pudendum in.
Do you know why we never got either fight, Ian? Did Sky not want to shell out for Kotai or something?

It was Polish/hungarian tv that paid for the fight so thats probably why SKY didnt show it.

Yeah, I thought they might have bought the rights to the rematch. The first one was arguably the upset of the year on the British domestic scene last year.

But on the whole, Sky was really quite shit last night. Has Paul Dempsey jumped ship too? Ed Robinson seemed to be ad-libbing at the first break, then we cut to ADAM SMITH doing the main presenter's job. How the hell Glenn McCrory never laughed the way he asked some of those questions I don't know.

The boxing itself wasn't up to much either. Home favourite versus a 5 round job from the back of beyond with a horrible hometown stoppage thrown in as a cherry on top. Gunshy Michael Jones playing ring a ring o' roses with A French Werewolf in Hartlepool, add, obviously, the horrible hometown stoppage in for good measure. Then, to top it all off, a 10 rounder between two guys with beyond zero power. I actually kinda felt sorry for Hughes - who looked like the emaciated love child of Matthew Barney - when he didn't get his hand raised. It seemed like he really wanted it. In fact, both boys deserve credit for what they put into it. It just didn't make a good TV fight, in my opinion. The FOTN went to Jamie McKeever for his usual unnecessary war with Mauritian Olympian (?) Durgahed, who looked handy. I remember he was also in a memorable fight with Lloyd Otte back last year, and looking down his record he obviously tries in every one of his contests. Shows how hard boxing can be when you see guys with effort like this, end up with a 50:50 record.
