Throughout the week I kept hearing (including from some of the production team) that Barry McGuigans gym visit to see Joe on the bags left Barry puzzled as Joe was not putting much into his left-hand punches. Barry also claimed the punching training was not intense enough, maybe the usual Calzaghe way but I don't know for sure. With Barry usually being reticent to criticise Joe I wonder if it is was a bit of a ruse to make team Lacy think Joe is physically inacapable of holding Jeff off. Would account for Jeff's confidence. So I'll be watching out for the usual McGuigan gym bit to see if Joe does throw his left. Joe could be putting everyone on a bit like Hopkins did for years claiming that he is the older man and letting everyone make their own conclusion's.

If he isn't it could be a problem or he may have been putting everyone on so that he when comes out throwing it like it is his first fight Lacy will be completely bemused. If he does then it will be pretty good work on their part as they'll have used the usual weak hands rumours to Joe's advantage.

Either way I hope they show him hitting the bags or pads as we'll be able to see how much he puts into it.
you could be onto something...there is SO MUCH prefight gamesmanship by fighters, their handlers & even unrelated media people, that it is really tough to sort out the gamesmanship & prefight psych...i guess we'll just have to see come fighttime!!!

Barry should know better and not talk a load of shite, Joe's training has been done in the previous months, he's ready has he will ever be, past experiences tells us if things like the hand are not going right Joe will pull out,but regarding the last week , he don't need any intense training if its been done right and i will sumize they know what there doing by now , the last week they will be slowing down just keeping the condition not trying to increase it , if he ain't ready a week before the fight he ain't never going to be ready.

For you none boxing people i'll explain , the training to a fight can be enormous your body is used to big intense workloads, roughly a week before a fight all depending on the individual but a good trainer will know excatly when you tone it down by fight night your body is so used to the action its screaming for more , bit like a junky who wants his fix.

Barry should know this and rethrain from talking shit, If the hand is a problem they would of pulle out or rescheduled , the hand will probably be an excuse though if he gets beat.

Yeah, there's no way Joe will be hitting the bag too hard with his left hand. He's saving it for Lacy's chin - why take risks at this late stage?

Lacy looks a monster in the weight in pics - and the timing is not great for Joe, very late in the day and the type of fight he shouldv'e been taking 2 or 3 years back.

But he's a born winner, and I reckon he'll pull it out tonight and beat Lacy,

More like 6-7 years back.
