Yeah but sometimes he can be a bit biest, i think he;s showed since comentating on ITV he's been a bit biest towards certain people. But last night he was spot on

he was closer to the truth than rawling, with the hobson-macca. i just can't see macca winning that fight

I agree Duke was on top form last night, i have been critical of him but he is a genuine nice guy and always comes out with some classic phrases or "Dukeglish"

Yes. He's sort of endearing in a Murray Walker sort of a way. Quite good last night.

Didn't like his commentary on the Alexander vs McDonagh fight, but he was much better overall.

Nice to see the "Fighting Talk" ditched aswell, Jim Rosenthal asked some great questions and you could see it was him who got brought Hobson in for the chat. Barry felt much more comfortable answering Jim's questions than setting the questions.

Overall one of ITV's better attempts, less ad breaks aswell. Still would like the old music though.

Not so sure Stu, the ads were driving me potty mate. They were fitting two in at times and giving no time for in between rounds, analysis or replays, only rushed replays. I think it ruins the atmosphere of the fight a bit when your pumped up in a big round and then at the end of the round some stupid little dog comes on advertising car insurance, flipping spoils it

Duke commentated better tha usual, because he had some real fights to talk about. he didn't have to make the best of a poor fight, as with the heavyweight garbage of recent

The Barnes fight and the Alexander fight (I think) had no ad breaks in them at all.

Duke shows real emotion when commentating & this only adds to his skills as a brilliant commentator. Not just in the Calzaghe-Lacy fight, but also Hobson-Maccranelli. @ one point, Duke was shouting 'he's gone, he's got him,' really loudly.

The ad breaks were f***ing ridiculous - who at ITV has the brain the size of a peanut? They obviously decided for the Macca fight....ok, breaks between rounds 1-6, then none between rounds 6-10 - or something like that.

So when Hobson got knocked down, they went right to a minutes worth of ads - because they'd decided BEFORE HAND. So a dazed Hobson goes back to his corner and we get to see nothing - not even a replay.

Why not hold the ads for that, and put em on a round later?

And Duke.....well, same as ever - I'm getting used to him I guess. He still says "John, you took the words right out of my mouth" then repeats exaclty what John just said. Like a slow motion replay.

Duke had a good night, in the absence of having to plump a shitefest like he often has to, he was genuinely excited.

You could tell he didn't think that much of Lacy throughout the commentary, and he must have fancied Calzaghe to win.

Great night all around, would have loved to have been there.

We had Richie "without a shadow of a doubt" Woodhall.

and now its Duke "he's really feeling sorry for himself" McKenzie.

I was loving it when Rawling would use his vocabulary to think of a single word which means the same as feeling sorry for himself like "disinterested" and McKenzie would then go - Alexander is feeling sorry for himself.

Yes, I pissed myself at that one - but thought it was unrounded territory.

Shame of it was though they obviously don't remember the Abdoul fight.
