Moore V Macklin is on!!!

JAMIE MOORE - The proposed fight with Teddy Reid has been postponed as Sky have insisted that Jamie fights his mandatory British challenger Mathew Macklin first. A deal has been agreed and Jamie will now box Macklin at Altrincham Leisure centre on the 12th May 2006 in front of his home fans. The show will be promoted by Maloney Promotions in association with VIP Promotions. Jamie craves a step up and has been promised the backing by Sky to move upwards if he deals with his mandatory challenger.

STEPHEN FOSTER JNR - Is now looking forward to his fight with John Simpson with a spring in his step after an allergy screening test detected that he was allergic to Dust mites - similar to the Gary Lockett problem a few years ago. For the past few fights Stephen has been feeling run down and training has been hampered , necessary adjustments have been made and Jnr is looking forward to fighting at 100% for the first time in a long time. Details of the report will be on his website http://www.stephen-foster-Jnr.co.uk early next week.

MARK THOMPSON - Moved to 5-0 with a 3rd round stoppage of unbeaten Simon Fleck at the Norbreck Castle in Blackpool last Thursday evening. It was his pet left hook that did the damage and he will now box on TARA show in Shaw on Sunday the 2nd April 2006.

ALEX MATTVIENKO - Alex will also box on the TARA show as he has now recovered from his back injury which kept him out of our last show in Davyhulme.

ALI NUUMEMBEE - Ali has gone home to Namibia for a short break whilst we await a decision from the Commonwealth Council on the 15th March to see if he has been promoted to mandatory challenger to Kevin Anderson after the unjustified late pull out by J Okine. Ali had offered to fight Anderson on the 17th March but it seems that novice Craig Dixon has now got the job , it really is a mystery as to how the board and Sky accept these fights yet turn down others.

Cracking fight by the looks of it, hard one to call - two observations from the original post.

1) Just what has Macklin done to warrant the mandatory positioning. Just being pedantic as I am looking forward to this 50:50 contest, but not sure who Macklin has beaten to warrant that.

2) Sky have ordered Moore to fight his mandatory, didn't realise they had so much pull.

Excellent fight, but Macklin punches hard to the body, and Moore doesn't take a body shot too well from what I've seen, so I'd expect Mathew to win by stoppage in about 8. Should be a corker, though.

Doesn't surprise me.

Obviously his management are not telling him everything.
