I think Joe by TKO.

Both guys gave good opp boxing lessons but Joe had the better chin.

They're not really in the same weight range Graham was a light-middle/small middleweight, Clazaghe is a large super-middleweight.

There not in the same weight range, so its not an even matchup.

How about Joe Calzaghe v John Conteh at 172 lbs.

Or

Herol Graham v Bunny Sterling at 157 lbs.

KO how good was Bunny Sterling? I was going to post something on the British Scene about greatest British Middleweights to include super and light. Be interesting to get people's views.

Good point, but here were plenty s-middles who avoided Herol...especially in Britain.

At first you`d imagine an ugly boring fight with these two, but I see Calzaghe doing Herol in similar fashion as Grant did, if we are rating them at their best then Herol could make it ugly and awkward early but Calzaghe would get his measure the longer it went on and just bust him up slowly and surely to get the stoppage late on.

Leaving the weight differtence aside Calzaghe vs Graham would have been an interesting match. I'd side with Graham, who in my view was the best of the British middleweights in the "golden era" of Benn, Watson, Eubank, Kaylor, etc. although he was never given the chance to prove it against the likes of Benn and Eubank.

Given the style and skill levels of JC and HG it might not be the best fight to watch from the perspective of the "slam bang" fan, but that said, Graham's fights were never boring...I could see Graham making Calzaghe miss quite a bit, and picking him off with sharp counters. But I wouldn't fall off my seat if I found that I was wrong in that assessment either!

The size don't matter really.

They both fought at super middle although Joe is the naturally bigger man.

Tommy Hearns and Evander Holyfield both fought at cruiserweight but I would match them up.

only trying to be pedantic by the way I know the size difference was not that much, just that the HG at super middle was not the prime HG

No offence to Joe, but a far as I'm concerned he has yet to be thoroughly tested by a great fighter. He doesn't compare to the Conteh's, Eubanks, Benns Jones, Toney's Nunn's etc at their peaks.......

But he'd still probably rally late to beat Graham by TKO, as Graham to me was a good fighter, not championship material.
