cant find any post fight interviews with jeff lacy..anyone??

gagging to see what he had to say, considering he said joe was a slapper and he was gonna knock him out...lol

anyone got any links for interviews with him?

I think he and his team made a sharp exit. I've seen an online interview, he's hoping to come back in October.

In an interview I read, Lacy said that he was praying to God in the latter rounds for one big punch instead of listening to his corner. He also had a few excuses like he felt like he was drugged.

Jeff, first of all what is your physical condition?

Jeff Lacy
I feel good. He fought a good fight. I can't take nothing away from Joe Calzaghe i knew what i was getting myself in for coming over here. I have nothing bad to say about him, never did. He didn't knock me out though. (Laugh)

Was this a clinic tonight?

JL
I wouldn't say a clinic. I was off my game tonight. I didn't follow my game plan and he came out and he fought remarkable tonight.

JG
It seemed as though early on that you were pushing and aiming your punches, were you unable some reason to get off?

JL
Yeah, on the inside he was holding a lot when the referee thought i was doing the holding so it kinda threw me off. Its all part of boxing. I can't say nothing bad about him. He fought his fight. He fought a perfect fight tonight.

JG
Was there any overconfidence on your end?

JL
No. I knew what is was getting involved with y me coming over to the UK. I just wanted to let everyone know that i wasn't going to back down from nobody. I was gonna take on all the fighters out there that were willing to fight me and that's what i did. I came over to the UK striving to succeed my goal and i came up short tonight.

JG
Jeff, how tough is this? You haven't lost in 6 years. This is your first professional defeat. How difficult is this for you mentally?

JL
Sometimes you have to lose to gain and i think that this was a learning experience for me. Like i said Joe is a great champion and i shot for the best man in the division. He's number 1. He's the ringleader and i take my hat off to him. Maybe someday, you know, we can do it again.

JG
What do you do now? What direction will you take from here now? You're still a very very young man and others have suffered defeats and come back. What direction will you take now?

JL
Well i've been busy the last year. I've fought 5 times in 13 months the last year i was in need of a break. Again i'm not taking anything away i didn't have to take this fight. Joe didn't have to take this fight. I'm just goig to take a little rest and see what my people talk about. You never know.

JG
Did the handspeed and the quickness of Calzaghe suprise you to any extent?

JL
No the handspeed wasn't it. It was more he threw me off my game on the inside by him holding a lot on the inside and when i couldn't get in my rhythm that's what really threw me off the whole fight.

JG
Was the lack of rhythm what threw you off being able to throw combinations the whole fight?

JL
Yes, like i said he was holding on the inside when the referee thought i was doing the holding so you know it kinda threw me off my gameplan. You know you win some you lose some. You can't win 'em all. I lost to a great champion.

JG
You said you'll learn from this. What exactly can you pinpoint?

JL
1, i need to work on my boxing skills more. If i work my jab more with Dan. I came here, seriously tell you the truth, i came here thinking i would come out here and knock him out because i didn't think that he could handle my pressure and he showed that he can handle it. I have to take my hat off to him. He's a great champion.

JG
You were not concerned, as much as Calzaghe, before this fight about the bodyclock and the time difference for this fight. Did that contribute at all?

JL
Oh no. You see i went 12 rounds. I wasn't to the point where i was tired, i couldn't throw any punches. It's just he threw me off on the inside, his inside game which was superb.

JG
Did you ever at any point want this fight stopped? There were some maybe on the outside of the ring who had your best interests at heart and were thinking that way.

JL
Heck no i fight to the end. I'm never gonna quit in a ring. Did you see a time when you thought i was gonna quit?

JG
No but i'm asking the question what you were feeling

JL
But i want to ask you the same question (smiling)

JG
I didn't detect it. No i did not.

JL
Then it's a no.
