Herbie Hide

What happened to his comeback at Cruiserweight ? Last time he fought was in March 2004, that cuts loss to Kulikauskas. I was looking forward to seeing a cruiser run from Herbie. I wonder how Hide would have fared if the cruiserweight limit was raised years earlier, seen as he was a small heavyweight.
Only just recently got to see Hide-Murray I for the vacant British title in 93, and Riddick Bowe was ringside giving his comments on Hide, also having a bit of an argument with Hide in the post fight interview.
Considering Hide was only just fighting for the vacant British title although had impressive stats at 20-0 (20KO's), how did they get Bowe interested in the match up and over here ? (although it didn't happen for another 2 years)
It seemed strange as you wouldn't have had a Toney or Rahman ringside to see Matt Skelton-Danny Williams.
