Woods Opponent Named At Last

Must say Im heavily disappointed...this is perhaps a hair better than Delisle, but certainly a weak defence...apparently Hobson and Co. didn't want to risk it against Pietro aurino...too bad, that fight would have been very competetive to say the least.
As to the opponent, his biggest win is against Fred Moore, right after Moore was brutalized by Brazilian Jose Barros...doesnt bode well for his chances against Woods.

They want a low risk opponent for the voluntary, to pave the way for big fights with Glen Johnson or Antonio Tarver.
Read it was a rematch with Jason DeLisle anyway.

Thats a piss poor match. Woods is coming up to 33 and had some tough fights, he needs to be making money.

While it's great that Woods is IBF champ, what I hate is the way he's not a big name in this country when he bloody should be!

I think Hatton's people made a mistake now.
PPV is ok in America although it doesn't pull millions there itself.
But in the UK more viewers on terestrial tv hence more publicity for Hatton and more dough through advertising.
Kinda contradicted himself moaning that Warren didn't get him the big fights but when he did, he left him!
He was never put at risk too like he claimed with SN.

Apparently there are conflicting reports...fightnews is saying that it is indeed Delisle...either way the opponent is pretty bad.

Like i've said in a few threads over the past weeks, let Clinton have his easy defence & then wait for the bigger fight or fights later this year. When Clinton won the title i remember people on here saying Clinton should have 3 or 4 easy defences & rake the money in taking advantage of his world champion status then go for the big fight, this was just before the fight with Gonzalez had been confirmed. I'm fairly sure we'll see Clinton in 2 big fights before he retires, he has that mentality that he wants to be the numero uno guy.
