A former British champion boxer from Nottingham has been given a suspended sentence for attacking his fiancée.
Nicky Booth, 26, the former bantamweight champion from Strelley, pleaded guilty to two charges of causing actual bodily harm in 2005.
He was ordered to attend a domestic abuse programme by Justice Dudley Bennett at Nottingham Crown Court.
Booth was given a 51-week sentence suspended for two years and a two-year supervision order.
His victim, Louise Smith, did not give evidence.
Booth won the British and Commonwealth titles in 2000 but later lost a World Boxing Union title.
The court heard he was jailed for two years for burglary and theft in 2004.

They should room him with Paul Spadafora so they can exchange secrets of the trade.

i cant believe the idiots on here who cant work out when a bloke is having a jest. of course he doesnt mean it. it may not be the funniest joke ever told but you could tell that he thinks booths actions are a disgrace. he just put it better and in a more subtle way than the usual "i hate men who bash women theyre...." bulox.
and it also shows me that the guy who posted the joke is definately not a woman basher, while the ones who kick and scream about how awful booth is might just be shielding their own weaknesses in this area.
