Bout takes place this weekend, an eliminator for the IBF title (although, I thought the IBF already agreed to make Medina the mandaotory after the Cotto pull out last year).

Good fight this one, us British fans have got the priveledge of seeing these two in action and have possibly seen Alvarez more times than those stateside.

Been reading alot of predictions and most seem to be siding with the betting favourite Medina, but at 35 he can go at any time and he hasn't fought anyone of note since the Harrison loss.

Alvarez is a fully fledged Super Featherweight who we all saw pummell Michael Gomez in a dominant 6 round KO victory. Gomex might have been shot by then, but it was still impressive.

I don't know, I think Alvarez can win this one.

I remember a thread where someone said Manuel Medina was HOF bound, or potentially HOF bound, and lots of people laughed at it. But when, 20 years into a brutally hard career, he is winning shut-outs in 'big 3' elmininators, against quality operators like Alvarez, I don't think people should laugh him off.

Agreed, it's hard to look past the scores of 118-110 | 118-110 | 119-109. Medina for another world title perhaps :o

Got that one wrong.

Haven't had a particularly strong week - got the Evans vs Price fight wrong (after originally tipping Price).
