Williams and Skelton get warm ups in April before fighting again in july ? where does this leave Gammer....will the brit title be vacated? how long has gammer had to wait since beating Mark Krence (as impressively as Skelton) way back last year..... the brit HW division is getting a bit better atm..... how far can Gammer go ?

Gammer beat Krence in May last year which was an eliminator for the British Title, so he's had a long wait. I highly rate him at domestic level and think he is capable of winning the British title, but not sure how much further he can go . Hope he gets a crack at it soon, he deserves it!

Having said that, why did Krence get called up to fight Skelton after Danny pulled out?, did Gammer get a call, did he turn it down?, just seems odd that Scott didn't fight Skelton, although he previously beat Krence in a British Title eliminator, so you would've thought that he earned his chance, maybe he was busy washing his hair!

Good question. Was Krence even a mandatory for Skelton? Whatever the answer, by July it will be a year at least since he's made an obligatory British defence. If Skelton-Williams II is just for the Comm title, the bbbofc surely can't give dispensation to Skelton since Gammer has been holding on so long.
Maybe if Skelton vacates, Gammer-Sprott for the British title, then if need be the winners of both can come together.
Interesting what happens though to the winner of Skelton-Williams. I'm afraid Williams is still a fat mess. However, if he can win the rematch, which he should, and if he can improve his condition at least to some extent, then maybe a fight with Vidoz would be viable. I think it was Freheit that was saying SSS, Krasniqi etc. have all pulled out of the next EBU shot, and Williams is just about next in line. I don't think he'd get crushed like he did against Sam, but he still needs to get his head, not to mention his hips, straighter for it to be competative.

I agree, but if Danny wins against Skelton surely he will be best to take up FW offer of a world title tilt, s'pose if that don't work out due to politics or whatever, at least then he's got the Euro route.

True. Money-wise, promotion wise, you've got to take the WBA title shot, although I don't think he lasts that to be honest and if he's stopped in 6-8 (which he could well be, given his current condition, and he'd be giving away about a foot and 3 or 4lb to Valuev) he'll be back at square one, where as I think he could stick Vidoz out and, dependant on where the fight is (not that that means anything of course

) he could maybe pick up a win.
You remind me now about Krence filling in at late notice for the runny-nosed stricken Williams.

It's strange why Gammer never got that callor if he did, why didn't he fight as Krence wasn't even first choice. I was on a stag do with Colin Kenna when he got the call on the Friday for the fight, 20k but as we were on a stag do and he was best man the next day he turned it down.
I've quite liked what I've seen of Gammer until the fight on the Williams vs. Frudley undercard when he looked slow, flat footed esp. when throwing his punches and getting floored. I thought he was lucky to win it.
I would love Skelton to vacted the title and have a tourament to see ho is the British champ. Gammer, Steeds (like see them rematch over 10 rounds), Greenberg (if he qualifies for the British Title), Sprott and maybe Kenna. I would pay good money to watch them fight each other.

Looks like Scott is fighting for the vacant title.
The bbboc have not or will not sanction Skelton/Williams 2 for the British title.
So did Skelton get stripped after losing to Williams or has he vacated - Either way Gammar is now first in line.

It does indeed, although this case is far from elementary.
twinkletoes - when you say The bbboc have not or will not sanction Skelton/Williams 2 for the British title have SN actually gone to them and asked?
Sprott you have to say is the best that should be available. Steeds would be interesting, although maybe he needs a rematch with Kenna (oh, and the fight in Aruba with Bowe of course

)
Audrey? He and Gammer was in the pipeline for a while. No doubt it would be excellent for Gammer in terms of making a name for himself. But if Audrey beats Guinn, then that would really make him 'above' the British title again (as in being back in the mix on the world scene whether you like it or not) but if he loses to Guinn, then a Gammer fight may be his last option

The title became vacant when Williams beat Skelton. Perhaps Sprott v Gammer will be made for the vacant belt?

Gammer is first in line but it takes two to fight and he doesn't want anyone in the opposite corner. Turned down Sprott for £20k, Skelton for £35k, and Fraudly for the same as Skelton...does he desrve a shot?
Hence Skelton V Williams 2 for the Commonwealth title. Winner to fight Sprott and Gammer will soon get the message.

That's all very fine - some interesting info there boxingchat.
But as mandatory Gammer's still going to get his vacant title shot, and if he's ducking the bigger names, then maybe he won't get 'the message.' Obviously one of the big four should be made a mandatory at some point though and he would have to take the fight
