Hattons real purse for Collazo is $6m dollars

Balboa repoted $2.9m but with the share of PPV he is Guaranteed a minimum of $6m.

Does any other fighter in the world today get that much?

 I said this earlier about his purse.

Wonder whether Boxingchat still thinks Rickys promoters are "liars" for saying he'll triple the best purse he got under allegedly FW?? :D

$6m, Really! :o

At present time, I don't think there is another fighter who gets that sort of figure, for a fight that is deemed 'safe', if you know what I mean. Collazo is relatively unknown to a lot of people.

However, if/when Mayeather-De La Hoya happens, I reckon they will earn more than the $6m Hatton is getting.

I also feel £££ will be a definite stumbling block in the making of Hatton-Mayweather, especially if it happens in the USA!

Does Collazo know Hatton's getting all this £? He must have steam coming out of his ears. Collazo's never been that happy with his $500,000 pursue.

However, good & smart work if you can get it! Nice one Ricky. :TU:

If this is true and I was Collazo I would ask demand more or pull out.

And go back to making less than 50K a fight...500K is a ton more than he's ever made.

Well if Hatton is guarnteed a minimum of 6Mill what is Collazo guarnteed?

It takes two to fight and Collazo camp deserves more than 12% of the purse, if what KO says is true.

(Lets not forget Collazo is the champion, shit thats poor negotiating)

No, he's a shit champion...that's a good value for him. Virtual unknown who's only mark so far was the #2 WBA title, and opening his mouth and signing a couple contracts for guys who would kick the piss out of him. This fight is a big chance for him, and if he wins, or at least is competitive in an exciting fight, it'll lead to bigger paydays...especially if he wins.

No shit it's good compared to his other fights, but still the offer put on the table was 500K, I'm sure they could of negotiated a little better.

We will take less to get more on the flip side," explained Lorick. "A lot of people point their fingers at Don King and they say Don King is a bad guy, but Don King was doing the most that he could for us....if it's not Luis, it would be someone else. We're going to show the world that Luis belongs in the same ring with Ricky Hatton and when we beat Ricky Hatton, then we'll talk." The offer put on the table for Collazo was $500,000. Hatton is earning $2.9 million.
Goodluck to them I say.

Telephone number purses for a fighter that's beaten the sum total of............1 truly top fighter :o

It's getting ridiculous and no wonder he's dithering around wondering who to fight next when the first consideration is the almighty dollar. No wonder boxing is losing it's structure, these days it's becoming more true that at the top it's a a series of 'one-off' fights

Collazo pulls out and he becomes another Vivian Harris / JMM. This is simple economics, I'm afraid. Sure, it's not a big fight by any means, but it's Hatton that brings all the money to the table, so it's only right that he makes the most, even if he is making more than the fight is really worth. People forget that fighters have to go through a lot of shit to get to this position, so it's only right that they cash in when they have the chance.

Besides, like most people, I have the feeling that this could be a very, veyr tricky night's work for Hatton.

Hatton would make more if the 6 mill was in pounds.

To be fair its not like its going to be an easy night, the guy is willing to challenge himself by fighting a sauth paw at a weight above him (since when has that been some kind of forgon conclusion?). I recon its worth a couple of quid on the other bloke with good odds.

Got to agree with Boxing Chat on this one. From the two times I have seen Collzo (on DVD), I didn't think he was anything special, although the one thing I will say in his defence is that his Boxrec rating is grossly unfair when you look who is in the top 25.

If the BRitish economy completely collapsed and the dollar surged he could be wrong about that statement :TU:
