Who wins in Junior Witter vs Demarcus Corley? I think its a winnable fight for Junior, but he'll have to do better than his last fight against Colin Lynes. I think the fight will go all the way, with a Witter points victory if he is on top form, otherwise Chop Chop will get the nod

It's a real 50-50 IMO. The purse bids and subsequent home advantage could be crucial. Anybody know who promotes chop-chop?

Mick Hennessey has got his work cut out then to get the fight over here, considering Witters following/support

Don't think this is a big fight on either side of the Atlantic, who's flag waving for Corley?

I doubt very much that it'll be held over here. And, sadly, I also doubt that Junior will win.

I can see Corley getting through Witters initial assault, perhaps not without a few difficulties, and then stealing a lot of very boring rounds with the odd accurate shot as Witter becomes increasingly wild. Something like 116-113 on the cards would be my bet, with a lot of close, dull rounds.

Could King put it on the Corrales-Castillo3 undercard with both winners to square off as neither Castillo or Chico will want to fight at 135 again. Or are they Arrum fighters? I foget but I thought Corrales was with King I know Castillos with Arrum.

With their collective drawing power, that could well be a good approximation of the gate....and the venue.

I think Witter has a chance of winning by stoppage, Corley doesn't have the best chin and we all know Witter can crack. I hope he wins, that will make Hatton v Witter a distinct possibility one would hope. Hatton could write his own paycheck for a world title fight against witter in the City of Manchester Stadium with 40,000 people in attendance.

Its a nice idea, but the 3rd June is abit soon especially considering Witter is fighting Lauri and that no purse bids have been submitted as yet

Surely GBP would like to have the fight on one of their cards? seeing as Witter still has a 2 fight co-promotional deal with GBP doesn't he?

From what I've read though, Hennessey wants home advantage for his boy and GBP would surely insist on the fight being in the US

I imagine this fight would be a main event in Britain but would probably be a good undercard/chief supporting bout on a big American card.

I know Hatton has bigger fish to fry. But Witter needs to win this title so he has some legitimacy in calling-out Hatton. Its been too easy for Hatton to dismiss Witter, for the fact that Witter brings little or nothing to the table.

Hatton v Witter must happen. Its typical of British boxing and its promoters that proper British contender/champions dont fight each other while there is interest (ala Steve Roberts, Richard Williams, Takaloo). Instead the fighters invariably end up losing to relatively unknown foreigners and the opportunity is lost.

To give the British public big domestic fights when both fighters bring genuine interest to the fight - instead of putting on the fight when the fighters are shells of their former selves and are treating it as one last big payday.

i'm getting tired of people calling for hatton-witter. its not gonna happen ricky will be campaigning at 147 for the forseeable future, dislikes junior and just for that reason alone wont want to give him a sniff of a world title.
junior could win against corley but the light welter division is now pretty depleted and even in victory will still find himself away from the real action. lose, though, and its the knackers yard. its a hard life.
