Anyone else catch David Haye on Soccer AM on Saturday? Came across very well and I don't think there is another British boxer so natural in front of the camera. Brian Blessed stole the show though and nice to hear him speak so highly of boxing, a bit of good press is never bad even if it does come from a nutter

Didn't see it but looks like Malony is doing a good job which has been needed on promoting Haye. He is a natural star being good lucking (apparently [according to exgirlfriend]) articulate and a KO puncher who compeeted for england in the world championships now holds the European belt and who has had a lot of coverage on terrestrial TV.

The question I always had was why did he play so many leasure centres. Looks like Malony is doing the donkey work on him and getting him media apearances (don't be supprised if he is in some tabloid love shocker eventualy attributed to Max Clifford).

yeah my girlfriend doesn't mind sitting through the boxing so much when Haye is on, one because of his looks and two because she knows the fight probably won't last long. is def. someone who has great crossover appeal and if he can carry on knocking people out on shows in London, then can become a big name to general sports fans. IF Sky don't pack in boxing

No, didn't see him. Would definitely have tuned in if I thought there was a possibility of him sparking that full weight twat Tim Lovejoy.

Is anyone else developing some kind of a bitter resentmant for david haye, he is good lucking charming rich and a better boxer than anyone on this forum will ever be. reson enough to want to see him in some sort of pain.

One of TV's greatest moments was when he had that live Wednesday night music and chat show on Sky One. He interviewed one of the characters from The Office. Lovejoy was wearing a Ramones t-shirt which is quite a hip thing to do for London media luvvies. The dude from The Office asked him to name three albums and the mug couldn't name one and after 10 seconds of embarrassing silence the wally muttered: "I've got their Greatest Hits." 'kin priceless.

Did you see at the end of the shows where he legged it from his studio to be on stage with Embrace while they played the show out, he got on the stage and realised he didn'y know any of the words and just stood there looking gormless

Not knowing the words to Embrace is a good thing.

Lovejoy really is a penis. Banter is banter, etc but the way the Chelsea supporting-know nothing prick took the mickey out of Torquay fan Helen Chamberlain when they were relegated showed no class at all.

That Ramones story sounds spot on. What a tit!

It was superb because I'd been told by people who wouldn't have a reason to dislike him what a bell end he is. I gave up on Soccer AM because he would suck up to every guest who went on the show.

Bill Borrows also did a piece with him once in a mens mag and asked him some questions about Chelsea's 1970 FA Cup Final Team. He couldn't answer what he was asked and got really cheesed off. I'll try and get a link to that interview.

oh,and that lovejoy fella..............what a prick!!! the man refers to himself as 3rd person! mate of mine was in a bar in japan for the world cup 2002 and tim lovejoy walked in.The whole pub started chanting,and he thought they were singing his praises,only after raising his hands in triumph did he realise they were singing 'lovejoy is a wan*er,lovejoy is a wan*ker,la,lala' would love to have seen it!!!

yeah my mum fancys him.must appeal to all ages.

My mum thought he was sweet because he dedicated his win against Hastings Rasani (on an audley harrison undercard I think) to all the mothers watching because mothers day was comming up. Only a boxer could get away with that without being called something derrogatry.

Lovejoy used to be a runner on Big Breakfast and got chinned by one of the presenters....I forget who, but it might (and I emphasize might) have been Paul Ross. I saw the footage of it on some outakes show or something I while back.

Yes. He swore a good 3 or 4 times and it was live. At a couple of points he paused a story said something like "right I'm not allowed to swear immediately followed by either the F and the C word" (I'm sure they were the ones used, I was too hungover to remember exactly what he said!) I did laugh though several times.

I've often thought Brian Blessed was nuts, always struck me as rather an unorthodox chap.

Some physical specimen too, was scaling everest without oxygen in his 60's with no prior mountaineering experience. I remember reading about him, and apparently he can bench press huge amounts. apparently he used to box as a youth too.

Yes, seems like a genuine eccentric, unlike those who do it for show. Funny bloke too.
