Howcome they changed the EBU from a Ribbon with gold plate?

To what it is now?

The Ribbon one with gold plate was classier.

must be because of costs. The old one was much classier.

Is it something to make it uniform with the EU belt or something? Like the intercontinental/international belts are similar to the world title belts.
