Cancelling Sky

Who here has or will cancel Sky due to their continued garbage of boxing?
Not showing Floyd vs Judah was the last straw for me.

I'll get rid of Sky during the next big fight that Shite Sports fail to show, and use those stream sites to download fights. i've got a couple of Uk trading partners anyhow who can copy me the Sky fights. I pay all this money for NOTHING a month and am sick of it.
funny, I bought some old (early 90s) Boxing News issues, and looked over the old Tv listings and boxing was on just about every day back then. fucken disgrace how it is now
i wonder who makes the decisions over at Sky. some sort of misguided purist maybe who has frowned on Mayweather-Judah like many top online writers? maybe that would explain why we don't get heavyweight fights either, since Lewis has gone.

I've already cancelled my subscription. What's the point of paying around £50 when they don't even show some of the biggest fights?

People don't help by buying the PPV shows that sky put on though.
If we worked as a collective union it would hit sky hard, but as soon as they show one good bout, people forget about this kind of thing.

Collazo is totally unknown and Hatton is slowly turning into an unknown

I watched the last Hatton fight in a Sports Bar. It was a great atmosphere and I had a really goog laugh. I mean I'll pay PPV for a HUGE fight , ie.-Hatton-Tyszu, but not for fights like Hatton-Colloza.
I've watched most of the big fights recently on

Only £2.47 a month and it shows EVERY major/PPV boxing event.
Nicky Piper actually said the other night "I know we're spoiled for choice on Sky for world class boxers....."
Bollocks Mensa boy.
And Steve "Big Daddy (He calls himself that , nobody else does)" Bunce was banging on in Boxing Monthly this month about how Sky are keeping British boxing alive.
I'm sorry but if Lee Haskins, Peter Haymer and Scott Dann are what Britsh boxing is being kept alive for then do us all a favour and die already.

sky's coverage of what they actually show is quite poor. Jim Watt is always insightful, but the panel sessions with Johnny, Nicky & Glen interrupting each other are quite annoying and embarrassing. Should get the CITIZEN KANE 'overlapping dialogue' award. And after all these years, isn't Dempsey going to do something about that daft hairdo?

lol dempsey doesn't age at all. I stuck in a tape of hamed mccullough the other night and thought i had put in lewis vs tyson or something. that hairdo must require constant preening.
another piss poor thing about sky is that absolute tool adam smith.
i am certainly cancelling my subscription. it's clear theey are not going to show heavyweight bouts brewster/valuev/klitchsko etc. plus, they aren't shoing cotto fights lately or any good fights live. I'm done. 50 quid a month, thats 620 a year for the odd fight. we should be getting more.
we laugh at the yanks paying 50 quid for their PPVs but we aren't far behind them when you add it all up. they get much more free fights.

I also will be cancelling my Sky sports subsc but just like to ask if there is a cancellation charge and will they ask for a reason?

Not sure about a cancellation charge but the reason has to be piss poor boxing coverage.

I cancelled mine a while ago. SKY Boxing isnt worth paying for.

Well with the country being too football obsessed I wouldn't be suprised if that worked!
You that 50 quid a month is also for your other channels, not just Sky Sports.

Disagree.
Admittedly, Sky not showing the fights they do show IN FULL is testing my patience, BUT if I didn't subscribe to SkySports I would have missed :
Graham Earl v Yuri Romanov
Pacman v Erik Morales
Lenny Daws v Colin Lynes
Matthew Thirwall v Donovan Smillie
Martin Power v Ian Napa
Michael Hunter v Esham Pickering
Shane Mosley v Fernando Vargas
Lee Haskins v Mbityi
Peter Haymer v Leigh Alliss
and that's just this year and there's been some other good bouts too and more to come! I for one have thoroughly enjoyed all of the above and can't think of any other channel on British TV that could match this, free or otherwise.
At this rate, I won't be leaving Sky, but I am going to complain about the editing of rounds when all they need to do is cut the waffle.

Why don't the other promotors try their fighters?
I know Witter and Froch failed to impress but their promotors could keep trying?
FA are arses if they think PPV is the way like they thought they could try if Calzaghe fought Woods.
If Haye wants to be a big star than terrestrial is the way surely.

BBC has four ruddy channels, plus all the UK TV Channels (6 Nations rugby highlights shown on UK TV this year).
BBC's dalliance with boxing has been annoying. They had a bit of a launch a while back, didn't they, with Inverdale, Bunce and the giraffe guy and there's evidently still some interest from the amount they showed in the Commonwealths with Jim 'This referee is a total idiot' Neilly. I have no idea what they're playing at though, highlights of big fights like this would give them 2,3 million for Sunday Grandstand, but plenty more if packaged right on a Sunday night.
