I am trying to find out on different threads who people think the hardest puncher of all time p4p is.

I am asking for one fighter from each replier not a list.

I myself am going with Thomas Hearns.

It' infinitely harder for the tiny guys to KO each other so considering his size, P4P it has to be someone like Jimmy Wilde. Most keep posting the bigger guys' names but I reckon you're barking up the wrong tree. Size doesn't count for this purpose :-?

Lightweight Lew Jenkins was one of boxings all time big hitters . His right hand was dynamite. Hes also one of boxings all - time wildmen. Probably never in shape for fights , big drinker, baroom brawler, motorcycle crashing, yet he 'd start winging that right hand and took some real good fighters out. K.O.d Lou Ambers twice. Knocked out Tippy Larkin in 1. Became a War Hero after his Boxing career was over. Hes buried in Arlington.

Just to show I'm not an old fashioned "only the old days" kind of guy I'll go with this brand new still in diapers baby that has like 18 first round KO's followed by a 2nd round KO. Name sounds like a cross between Bolero and Velcro......Valero. He seems to have a thunderous whack for such a light weightclass. And I don't think he's all hype.

I know I know it's too soon to really tell about this kid, but if it pans out I'll be the new Edgar Cayce or Nostradamus or some such nonsense. And I can say I was ahead of the curve on this thing.

Anyone remember the finish Callejas put on Loris Stecca? I think it was a left hook that lifted him up in the air and dumped him on his back... That was some shot.

I tell you a really hard single hitter. Edwin Rosario. If Cuevas is up there, so is Rosario.

For lower weight classes Gomez or Rosario

Pound for pound, I would have to go with "Bazooka". Has any other world champ (who made a large number of defences) stopped EVERY challenger like him!

El Chapo was a tremendous puncher, particularly with the overhand right.

Saw him late in his career at the Felt Forum, he won by KO with the dynamite right again.

Off the top of my head, I believe Rosario is the only man to stop Edwin Viruet.
His two-round destruction of the phenomenally durable Bramble is an underrated triumph.

Didnt Sammy Serrano stop Viruet? I seem to recall them fighting.

Rosarios win over Bramble is a great win. Rosario 4 times champion, is a true great.

In the IBHOF for 2006 I hear.

I saw him fight a clubfighter Juan Minaya, just dug out the programme

Sorry, Bennie. I'm miles out with the Serrano thing.

Last time I saw him fight was against Roger Mayweather.

Yeah, remember his Felt Forum wins well. He was deemed shot after the Chavez beating, and was brought back with a series of low-key wins there till he secured another world title crack. He faced Detroit's Anthony Jones for the WBA title made vacant by Chavez. I watched the fight on tape. Jones killed him in the early rounds, then ran into a big right hand and was flattened.
It summed up Rosario's entire career.
His premature death, possibly drug-related, was a great shock. He died in his sleep at least.
