Was just looking at a couple of boxers records on Boxrec, and it got me thinking , when was the last British boxer to win over a 100 fights?
Anyone know?
Also do you think that it will happen again?, I know we have a few boxers with 100+ fights, but they are nowhere near getting 100 wins.
Most boxers these days with winning records at the most have 50-60 wins.

Winning over a hundred fights in the modern British game would be a difficult task in my eyes - unless a fighter took the very shady 'Buck Smith' style route, but even then, the numbers of professional fighters in Britian aren't great enough to acheive attempt this.
Modern fighters generally arent active enough to get to around a hundred fights with decent winning percentages, especially in the UK..

Over the years even US club fighters such as Buck Smith, Jerry 'Wimpy' Halstead, Marty Jakubowski and the like have gone over 100 contests with statistically impressive records, but these careers are based on fighting dubious characters multiple times to inflate their records undeservedly (although Smith did once KO Laing if I rememebr rightly!)

The last British fighter to win 100 fights was this guy:

Thanks, would have thought that there would have been someone a bit later than 1952 who had won 100, shows how hard it is over here to do that

It's hard to do it anywhere. Look at Duran. His career spanned five decades and he just broke the 100-win barrier (103).

Buck Smith was known to box his sparring partner, his manager and many other friends and associates posing under different names, on his way to his fraudulent, glossy record.
