Did Alex Arthurs best mate write this article, I know alot of the lads from Britishboxing.net post on here, but this is a really funny writen piece. It reads that Arthur is doing Johannesen a favour by chucking the British Title, nothing to do with the fact Carl would beat him.

I'd give Carl a good chance at beating Arthur... seems like Alex is doing a Hatton and avoiding his most dangerous domestic rival...

Not so sure guys. Who has Johannson beaten to match the quality of Arthur's wins over Burns, Sinitson, Doherty etc ? Remember, Arthur didn't duck Gomez who is dangerous if erratic.

That particular piece is pretty embarassing, I thought I had dropped on to a Greenburg secondsout piece for a minute :)

I'd not call a Boxer a "Waste of time" who holds, British, Commonwealth and European titles and won a Gold in the Commonwealth Games.

Not every Boxer is going to be a Marco Antonio Barrera or Manny Pacquiao.

On the scale of British and European level, Arthur is a good fighter and has recovered and re-grouped himself to these 3 titles. That alone is something that is not easy.

If Alex never win's a World title, he's still a British fighter who has done well in his career and there will be plenty of active Boxers who would not even reach his level. Good luck to Alex, hes a good lad!

It would have been nice though if he had given Gomez a rematch... and if he is the best in Europe why doesn't he fight Johansson?...

To be fair though, what has Johansson done to prove he is any better than the domestic foes Arthur has beaten... such as Docherty (where is he), Limmond and Burns.

If he is fighting guys who are better than Johansson then surely there is okay, and Johansson hasn't proved himself a worthy challenger yet. He beat Ferrans for the shot.... Ferrans is decent, but I would like to see Johansson fight any of the Scots ranked above Ferrans before I would be satisfied that he is ready for the challenge.

Thats a question for Alex to answer.

If I were Alex, I'd not want to fight any more domestic fighters and try and aim for a good fight in World terms and look towards a title shot, I'd aim towards taking his career to the next level. At 27, I think the time is correct to do this and if he gets beat in doing so, then hes not at that level and if he can get some good names behind him, then a shot at one the the main titles.

I have been thinking this for a while, I think a good fight for Arthur to try and get would be Robbie Peden, former IBF title holder and a decent World level boxer. I'd much prefer that direction than hanging in any longer at British level or too long at European level.

A Gomez rematch should of happened a long time ago, as of this time in his career, Gomez or Johansson would not advance him and I think Johansson would have to do some more in his career to make the big noises for this fight to be demanded to take place. It's no where near on the same level as the calls for Witter Hatton at one point. I've really no interest in seeing it at this moment in time, when there is better fights to be made out there.

I agree with you Stu, he needs to prove himself more.

I didn't put up Tom's piece as I was away. It is about as gushing as one can get - have just read it. But it will be a genuinely felt piece - Tom doesn't need to kiss anyone's arse. It will be sincere.

The Warren piece is genuine and independent. Since he has been singing for his supper he's done very well on ITV.

We have a broad church at BBN - I certainly wouldn't have written that Arthur news in that style, but there you go.

I personally didn't mind the Arthur piece, it was pro Arthur but I thought he had a point.... Not really the challenges left in the UK after beating Docherty, Limond and Burns and I agree with the decision to vacate (Johansson hasn't proved himself, it wasn't long ago he got KO'd).

Didn't like or understand the point of the Warren piece, I must admit.
