Hatton + Calzaghe

Both of these British fighters are "the flavour of the month", they're in the limelight after significant wins BUT where do your think their careers are heading?

DEFINING MOMENTS

Ricky Hatton

4th June 2005. Hattons defeats Kostya Tsyzu for the IBF Light Welterweight title...

26th Nov 2005. Hatton defeats Carlos Maussa in a re-unification for the WBA Light Welterweight title...

Joe Calzaghe

11th Oct 1997. Calzaghe defeats Chris Eubank for the WBO Super Middleweight title.

4th March 2006. Calzaghe defeats Jeff Lacy in a re-unification for the IBF Super Middleweight title...

WHERE SO THEY GO FROM HERE?

Ricky Hatton has moved up weights and intends to challenge Luiz Collazo for the WBA Welterweight title.

If he wins, will he seek a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr?

Joe Calzaghe intends to fight on 8th July 2006, but no opponent has been named...Rumours are that he'll fight the Contender Runner-Up, Peter Manfredo Jr.

BIGGEST LET-DOWNS?

Hatton has ignored the feud between Jose Luis Castillo and Diego Corrales, it would have been exciting if he had've got in on some of that action...

Calzaghe has so far disregarded the opposite champions, Mikkel Kessler and Markus Beyer. Will he move weights then, if he won't fight them?

I don't think you can back up that statement that he ignored Castillo and Corrales, after all even though they are both destined for light welter, they are still currently lightweights.

And with Hatton going up to welterweight along with Mayweather and in the near future Cotto, that means there is a division between them. Let Castillo and Corrales arrive at 140 lbs first.

hatton will be in the mix for some great prospective match-ups.the division he is in and the ones around his weight have got some true quality in them.

unfortunately, calzaghe is surronded by complete rubbish by comparison who he would school, and the big name fighters around his weight ie.jones, tarver etc... are at least 88 yrs old!!!

calzaghe should put on a few pound a ko fraudley the a-farce!!!!!
