Mayweather Jr. vs Trinidad @ 147

I have always wondered what the outcome of this fight would have been if they met while both in their prime. I would have put my money on Trinidad with a late stoppage. My reasoning would be because when Trinidad is put under pressure he is one tough man and I think by some chance he would beat Mayweather.

Your thoughts on this one. :box:

I love Tito but Floyd is a master boxer and would play it safe and box a pretty one sided decision.

well ive only seen a few fights of tito at 147 like like his fight with ODLH which i dont think he won but a fight in which ODLH lost!!! but i think floyd would of won a UD tito seems slower and a more basic style boxer whereas Floyd has speed and seems pretty impressive! thats my opinion tho

Trinidad was at his best when he could sit outside and get extension on his HUGE left hook. Look at the Vargas fight. However, I wouldn't say his pressure bothers Floyd that much, because he isn't a big guy at 147. Floyd counters the shit out of him the entire fight, and gets a late TKO because of Tito's lackluster chin.

Mayweather is special, fighters like him dont come around to often, tito was good too, but id say Floyd by UD here

Alright you guys changed my mind. Mayweather by UD sounds like a reasonable choice.

There is a BIG difference between Judah and Trinidad. I have not seen enough of Mayweather at welterweight to make me think he could beat prime Trinidad. Mayweather has the skill and speed alright, but he does not have natural size or power at that wieght to trouble Trinidad like the goldenboy did. I believe Trinidads relentless pressure, strenght and power will keep Mayweather on the defensive most of the fight and will carry him to a competitve UD12 victory.

Trinidad by late round KO. Too much strenght, power and way too big for Mayweather. Mayweather doesn't have the power to keep Tito away from him :TU:

Mayweather does for the entire fight what DLH did for most of his fight with Tito. But not quite enough for DLH to win according to the judges.

After he ran for 1/4 of the fight with a lot of the rounds close he did not deserve to win that fight. You are paid to fight 12 rounds and what he did was very dissapointing for a unification fight. A complete disgrace in my opinion. To defeat a champion you have to do a lot more than DLH did in that fight. Just my opinion.

I tend to agree with you on this in sort of a spirited way, However I've never been quite sure if he really lost the "technical fight" but the fact that he became so defense oriented sort of dissapointed me to the point that I became satisfied with the outcome.

I agree that PBF had the better skills than Tito in every area, but PBF is really a 10 stoner at most. Tito is a big strong talented Welter, so the edge PBF has in sped, defense and ring generalship would be negated because of Tito's height and reach advantage. Close fight but maybe a Tito win. I still prefer to watch PBF fight and he really is top top class
