Whats both fighters like?
Ain't seen either but the bbc says the winner wil fight the winner of Akashi Koshimoto and Mexico's Rudy Lopez.
Now what happened to Soto who holds the interim title? Isn't he getting his shot?

Havn't a clue how these interim things work. Best example for utter confusion is at flyweight. Jorge Arce won the interim title in July last year, and has now defended it 4 times.
I don't know the reason why an interim title was created in the first place -Wonjongkam faught the day before Arce first won the interim title, so it wasn't like he was injured. Anyway, Wonjongkam has defended the 'proper' title twice (three times come May) since then yet so far never have the two met.
I can only guess that the two holders are only forced in to meeting within a certain time span (ie. a year) rather than having to fight next time out.
That makes Klitchko-Rachman all the more strange though, because Klitchko was (or would have been) forced to make Rachman as interim champ his first defence upon return from injury.

The proper champs have to face the interim ones eventually hence why Klitschko had to fight Rahman.
So I'm sure Taskashi would have to fight Soto first then the winner of Cook and Diaz which is hopefully and should be Cook.

Why is Koshimoto fighting some guy ranked 17th in the WBC?
I thought they could oly defend their title against the top 14?
And what about Soto?

Soto has renounced his interim title and has moved
up to super featherweight where the $Money$ and *Stars* are.
Now that the sport of boxing is dead and the business of boxing has taken over;
Featherweight champs now defend their titles against 2nd & 3rd raters.

up to super featherweight where the $Money$ and *Stars* are.
Now that the sport of boxing is dead and the business of boxing has taken over;
Featherweight champs now defend their titles against 2nd & 3rd raters.

It's meant to be the top 15th although special dispensation can be given to fight a fighter not in that top 15 . This is usually when somone is a late replacement but even then they are usually very strict and if dispensation is allowed it will probably be to fight a fighter in the top 20/25 .

That really is depressing. Not one of the contenders are world class, and only two of the champions are close to it.

Today’s Mexican tabloid Esto (Sat. 22nd) said Soto has changed
his mind and has decided to defend his interim WBC 126 title.
It will be sometime in June at Las Vegas.

Because they feel that would reduce viewing figuires , if they air a bout for a 'world title' they feel that more people will watch and if there's less 'world titles' then there's less 'world title' fights and therefore less fights where they can feel they are conning people into watching the best in the sport .
