SONNY LISTON INTERVIEW

There is a good chance I may soon be interviewing Charles Napier, who acted with Sonny Liston in the 1970 film "Moonfire". As a fellow actor myself, I can tell you people that a movie set is often dreadfully slow-paced and boring for actors, leaving them a lot of time to get to know each other intimately. I'm sure this was the case with Napier and Liston, so this may be an interesting opportunity to see what Sonny was like in the last year of his life. It may give us insight into Lewiston as well as who Sonny was hanging out with at the time(which may give us an idea about who killed him).

If there are any questions anyone would like me to ask regarding Liston, feel free to post them here. I don't want to leave any stone unturned.

Did Liston like to talk about these things? Would love to have gotten his thoughts on just how surprised he was that Floyd signed to fight him and just how sure he was of winning that fight.

What he thought of his two fights with Clay/Ali.

And especially his thoughts on how Leotis Martin a former sparring partner caught him napping. I have always wondered if Liston figured they were taking it easy on each other due to their history and if Leotis Surprised him due to that, or if there was bad blood and that fight was more reality based.

Thanks Buzz. I'll ask him. You've probably seen him in many movies. He played the cop who got fileted by Hannibal Lecter in "SIlence of the Lambs". His most recent film was the boxing/Navy movie "Annapolis".

OK LADIES AND GENTS! Talked to Napier this afternoon and I'll be interviewing him next week for the IBRO journal. Should be cool as he has also done movies with Marvin Hagler and Ray Leonard.

Again, think of any questions you might have and send them my way. Thanks!

Ask him what was it like being born into a family with 25 siblings, and what effect did this have on his boxing career.
